"Based upon previous experiences at Skyviews the first dinner of the Fall 2022 season was a disappointment. We were seated at a table in the center of the room. In the past we have always been seated at a table by a window. The views from the window table is one reason to eat at Skyviews. We asked to change to a vacant window table but were told they had all been assigned. The lunch buffet serving tables have been moved into the dining area after the remodel. This detracted from the dining atmosphere. The appetizer was not freshly baked and was oversalted with a coating of sea salt. The soup was good but the dumplings in it were very undercooked with a flavor of flour and a semi-liquid texture. The entrees we’re perfectly cooked and we’re excellent. Unfortunately the accompanying vegetable side dish was tough and fibrous. Dessert was very good. Waitstaff need additional experience and training. Glasses were not provided with bottled beverages. Used plates were not removed before new courses were brought to the table. Since this was the first dinner of the year this can be expected. Our waitress was clearly overworked and had too many tables to serve. In years past supervisors and instructors visited the tables and talked with diners about their experience. This did not happen on this visit."
