"Went here before a show at the nearby theater on a Saturday evening. Atmosphere is comfortable and casual, we were allowed to pick our own seats so we sat by the window. Service arrived in good time, but we were not ready to order as we were not in a hurry. Made some drink and appetizer decisions and flagged down service. Drinks were served, my margarita was made with mescal and was good, but no evidence of smoke. Our mistake evidently was to order appetizer and meals together, as one of our meals showed up first. Sent the ropa viejo back not recognizing it as a main course, we found out later when it showed up again and not warm enough. Appetizer was the Cuban Empenadas. Simple and good. The Ogden Brisket Mole was quite good and unusual, and beautifully presented. I would order it again. Not so much the ropa viejo."

This place is my second home. I love the staff, I love the food, and the margaritas are my weakness. View menu

Always a good spot to spend the late morning/early afternoon weekend enjoying a boozy brunch! There's some new food options too, this is the Churro French Toast

A nice spot for Mexican food. Guacamole was good and the mole was very good. The chicken and the steak was a little tough. They have a good variety and a decent brunch.

The waitress was fantastic and extremely polite from the moment our group arrived at the restaurant. The entire staff was courteous as well. The food was delicious, especially the margaritas. We will definitely be coming back! View menu

I had a wonderful experience at the restaurant thanks to our waitress, Anna, who was incredibly sweet, welcoming, and kind. The quesadillas were absolutely delicious and loaded with cheese! I enjoyed a delicious strawberry margarita on the rocks made with Casa Amigos, and it was definitely a standout! I also tried the steak tacos, and the steak was incredibly tender and juicy. I will definitely be returning!

This is a wonderful spot to gather, chat with friends, or even meet someone new, and the food is excellent. I ordered a Pina Colada to go with my meal, and the bartender was no-nonsense. She balanced the sweetness and liquor perfectly, making sure I knew not to overindulge. For my food, I had à la carte orders of rice, beans, and tostones topped with garlic. I also tried a Chorizo Taco. Everything was delicious!

"Tempesta is arguably one of the best sandwich shops in the city. They make a lot of their meats in house and use high quality ingredients so you know you’re getting the good stuff. Not only can you get a great sandwich, you can purchase most of their meats to go as well as other small artisanal grocery items. I have tried almost every sandwich they have on the menu but my top two choices would be the #1 The Dante and the #2 Yo! Vincenzo! The Dante is their version of a classic Italian sandwich but a bit on the spicier side. The Yo Vincenzo is a chicken parm and I personally think it’s the best chicken parm sandwich in the city. The chicken is perfectly crispy, and they use just the right amount of sauce where it doesn’t get soggy. Both of these sandwiches come on their fresh baguette which helps set them apart from other sandwich spots in Chicago just because of how good it is. The B Franklin is also a great option, and if you’re starving get the Wagyu Pastrami but be warned it is a very heavy sandwich because of that Wagyu. The last pro tip I’ll add in here is order your sandwich ahead of time if you’re doing takeout. This is a very popular spot and is always busy during the lunch rush so if you wait to order until you arrive you may need to wait for 10-15 minutes. That should speak to how good this place is because it’s in such high demand, so if you’re in Chicago make sure you stop in!"
