"Our waiter was fantastic—super friendly and offered excellent menu suggestions. I had the special, Mahi Mahi Oscar, which featured crab meat on top of the fish, and it was incredibly delicious! We also ordered the hot crab dip, which was exceptional, and I had the she-crab soup that was very flavorful. Others in our group enjoyed the fried flounder, Mahi Mahi with grits, and the pick-three kebabs with teriyaki steak, shrimp, and Mahi Mahi. Everyone loved their choices! The Pink Flamingo frozen drink was refreshing and the classic margarita was quite good as well! The singer on the pier was not only talented but also friendly and comedic. We enjoyed his performance so much that we stayed after dinner to listen to more of his live music! "

My husband and I go here every year and we always enjoy it. They have the best hot crab dip appetizer I've ever had.

I waited for about an hour, but it was well worth it; the pier made it very easy to keep my three young kids entertained during the wait. I ordered the seafood cook combo, and it was delicious—each component of the dish was amazing. We had a special day: the kids enjoyed popcorn shrimp and pasta, followed by a triple chocolate cake. The service was prompt and friendly. I'll definitely be back!

Wow, just wow! We had to wait quite a bit to be seated but it was absolutely worth the wait. While we waited they had live music on the pier and an deck/pier bar where we enjoyed drinks and the sunset on the sound. I got the Broiled Seafood Combo Platter, it was near perfection. The scallops were absolutely divine. Best scallops and crab cake I think have ever had. They were very accommodating to my gluten and dairy allergies as well and had surprisingly large selection of gluten free menu options. I would make a trip down to OBX just to make sure I eat here again.

"I never actually ate here, but let me tell you, that was probably for the best. My experience with Kill Devil Grill started with me trying to order food online. Silly me, I thought that would be a straightforward process. Spoiler alert: it wasn’t. After fighting with their broken online system, I decided to give them a call. You know, like people used to do in the dark ages before the internet. I was on hold for a while, but hey, I figured they were busy whipping up some delicious food. How naive of me. When I finally got through to the host, I explained my situation, expecting at least a smidge of empathy or, I don’t know, a willingness to help. Instead, I was hit with a line that’s going to be etched in my memory forever: The kitchen said no. This was after they asked, how many things are you going to order? Really? No. Just... no. No explanation, no apology, no attempt to even pretend like they cared. Apparently, asking to place an order over the phone was too much for them to handle. I mean, how dare I want to give them money in exchange for food? The nerve! Look, I’ve dealt with bad service before, but this was a whole new level of ridiculous. The fact that they couldn’t even be bothered to take an order says everything you need to know about this place. Customer service? What’s that? The people running this joint clearly have no clue. Honestly, I’m relieved I didn’t actually get to try their food. If their service is this bad, I can only imagine what the kitchen is like. Maybe the kitchen didn’t say no —maybe it was trying to warn me. In any case, I’ve taken the hint. I won’t be bothering Kill Devil Grill with my pesky orders again. If you value your time, money, or basic human decency, do yourself a favor and stay far, far away from this place."
