"we had the pleasure of eating on Friday night in the taste of Ethiopia ii. we started ordering the bark sambusa, they were tasty and perfectly seasoned. as we had a group with two vegetarians, we ordered the ultimate combo with extra divided heaps and caulis. We also had a order of lamb tibbs and doro wot. everything was excellent and we did not have a piece of food left on the plate - therefore no photo of the food. but be sure that eating was well presented and explained how it was served us. while the staff was a bit slower than other restaurants, they make it completely with their ease and recommendations. both our server, a st. edwards student from kenia, and the sisters of the owner were so friendly and amazing. we loved to eat them and can not wait to come back to taste other dishes."

I’ve driven by this place many many times, and after a craving for Ethiopian food, we decided to try it out. So glad we did! Delicious, fantastic and fresh. View menu

I had the spicy yira-wor dish and found it to be bland with just a light spiciness, likely adjusted for foreigners. The spicy sauce was good, but had to be ordered as an extra. I plan to try the vegetarian set next time to taste more items.

vegetarian sampler was delicious (not sharp.) also brought the other half to home to sf and partner said it was still tasty though the injera was soggy. the service was very attentive and icy was enthusiastically spiced and unsweet what I wanted.

This restaurant is family-owned and offers a wonderful selection of vegetarian options. The food was excellent, and the owner kindly brought out two additional items for us to try, ensuring we experienced even more flavors and knew what to order next time. View menu

The salsa comes with the sambusas. As for my main course, they knew exactly how to veganize it. I got the wot with peas in it. ¿Yiro Wot? The server asked if I wanted plant butter or ghee to distinguish if I was truly vegan. #Veganuary Updated from previous review on 2022-01-17

wonderful, exciting, authentic eating. the owners are beautiful huge hearty people who not only care about the creation of tasty dishes, but also make sure they have a great experience. they were busy and experienced staff shortage, but the family business had family members on the floor coughing as they could. I recommend this gem of a restaurant.

"I literally just made a review but I’m going to make another one because for whatever reason someone or somehow it got deleted. I used to be a regular at Bouldin and the service was always amazing but my last two visits have been by far horrible. The service has been so poor that I felt disgusted when leaving the restaurant. There are two girls that work there with light brown hair and blue eyes. Pretty sure one of their names is Rego. My boyfriend and I were served by her before and she seemed nothing but annoyed and couldn’t care less if we were in her section. Barley even interacted with us or asked how our meal was and just seemed disgusted by us, just being rude passive aggressive for no reason at all. I’m a server and I KNOW this isn’t how you treat your guests and the same thing happened tonight. She just seemed like she couldn’t care less if we were there and just seemed annoyed? I don’t mind paying the gratuity if I’m being treated decently but that wasn’t the case and I feel as though they feel like they think they can get away with behaving like mean girls just because there’s a gratuity. I have friends that dine here as well and they have had the same experience. I’m not one to write reviews but I feel this needs to come across a managers attention so they know who they are hiring and how they are treating customers. Really disgusted and disappointing and if this gets deleted again I’ll write another review or just call the store to speak to a manager. Disgusted by their behavior."
