"Food smelled great when I arrived. Kitchen was booming, the aroma was magnificent. But there's a reason I don't order fried food often anymore and this calamari with a side of hush puppies reminded why. ? over battered, overcooked, basically eating crunchy chips instead of juicy lightly fried fresh calamari. The hush puppies I'm use to from the east coast are sweet and soft but these were crunchy and peppery. ? but I get it I'm in TX that's what people want. No honey butter here either. just tarter and cocktail sauce. I couldn't finish even half of the $17 togo meal after a $2 tip. Great service though. Nice people. Should of played it safe with broiled fish or shrimp. Oh well maybe next time ..."

The gumbo was quite good. The calamari was just average, and I received a small container of cocktail sauce with it. I requested another, but I should have asked for three. I really wish I had tried the etouffee instead.

I really enjoyed the food and the service was great! The manager Jelly was awesome!! I was there for my birthday and my sister and I asked Jelly the manager to take our pictures and she did with no problem.......I know we were doing too much but the manager Jelly still gave us great service. They even played music that we liked???. I will come back to eat there.

The oysters were excellent! We also ordered the platter for two, but unfortunately, the fried fish was quite disappointing. It was mushy and lacked flavor. The stuffed shrimp and stuffed crab had the same filling, which tasted just like the gumbo, only breaded and fried in cornmeal. On the bright side, the service was great. Overall, it's a nice spot if you're just looking for delicious oysters on the half shell. View menu

Everything was delightful, and our waiter Ramón provided exceptional service. He explained the specials and addressed all our questions about add-ons. The seafood was incredibly fresh, and our fried dishes did not have the taste of stale grease, which is often a concern at late hours. We arrived about an hour before closing, yet our food was just as fresh and flavorful as it would be at opening time. Truly delicious! Thank you, Uncle Benny!

I’m giving this restaurant four stars mainly because it could use a bit more cleaning. However, the food definitely deserves five stars! We ordered the whole broiled flounder, and it was fantastic—perfectly cooked, well-seasoned, and incredibly fresh! The baked oysters were also excellent; I could have easily polished off a dozen by myself! We tried both the garlic butter and the parmigiana varieties. The beer was cold and refreshing, and they offer large bottles of Mexican Coke. It’s a great spot to stop by on your way to Hobby Airport.

The seafood here was fresh and very well made. We sat outside under the palapa and it was a beautiful afternoon. We got the crab fingers (crab claws) that were drop fried then tossed in a garlic butter sauce. They were delicious, I only wish they had more claws and more garlic! We then shared the fried flounder which was huge and delicately fried, not over cooked, in a light cornmeal batter. We asked for lots of fresh lemons to squeeze on the fish and comes with cocktail and tater sauce. A crispy slice of garlic bread, two hush puppies, and coleslaw come as sides. View menu

The seafood here was fresh and expertly prepared. We enjoyed sitting outside under the palapa on a lovely afternoon. We shared the crab claws, which were fried in a garlic butter sauce. They were delicious, though I wished there were more claws and even more garlic! Next, we split a generously-sized fried flounder, which was perfectly cooked with a light cornmeal batter—not overcooked at all. We requested plenty of fresh lemon to squeeze over the fish, and it came with cocktail and tartar sauce. As sides, we had a crispy slice of garlic bread, two hush puppies, and coleslaw.

In search of some good seafood, I stumbled across THIS HIDDEN GEM!! ?? And I found me some GREAT seafood!! I ordered the Shrimp Scallop Kabob Combo for $18.99, added fried oysters for $5.99 added hushpuppies for $1.99 Now coming from a long-life of eating plates of various seafood, I usually just won't eat the cole slaw.... But this one was actually fantastic. My shrimp my scallops my veggies were PERFECTLY cooked!! I ordered a bowl of Seafood Gumbo for $10.50 to-go because I couldn't fit anymore in my belly! Lol. My waitress was friendly attentive I enjoyed my visit very much. Cannot wait to eat here again in the coming weeks!

"Food good. Location good. Service good. BUT, the hidden charges REALLY ruined an otherwise nice experience. Example: HH menu lists Martinis as a $3 upcharge to the $7 base charge. Fair enough. Bombay is a listed alcohol; requested. When the bill was returned I was charged for a Bombay Sapphire which is not on the HH list. Charge? $11 $3. I asked for Bombay, not Bombay Sapphire. Waiter: Oh, let me look into that. AND, by the way Blue Cheese olives? Extra $1. REALLY? I 've NEVER paid extra for BC olives ANYWHERE. AND the confusing menus that a dish as including an extra sauce, [and I don 't recall the exact language but it made it seem that an additional items could be selected as well. Oops, there goes an extra $10.95. AND, the waiter recommending a twice-baked potato. Bah, boom, another $5.95. [which in fairness is disclosed on the menu in a different location, but waiter made it sound as if it was a no-charge option on the surf and turf. AND the split plate charge which I don 't think was disclosed on the menu. Ding, ding, extra $3.00. Was this a waiter, who was overly up-selling or restaurant deception? Don 't know. As I said, the food WAS good. AND, the ambience [at least in the bar area, stay away of the hotel-ballroom-like main dining area was nice. Just beware the nickel and dime charges that the waiter won 't be disclosing to you."
