"I recently visited The Sun Dial for a business dinner with clients, hoping for a great experience given the stunning views. Despite reading some negative reviews, I decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, the experience was incredibly disappointing. From the start, we were seated in an unwelcoming manner. When I requested a table with a better view, the host seemed annoyed, even though the place was empty. Our waiter took an unreasonably long time to take our food order after we placed our drink order, and the cocktails we received were poorly made. I had to return mine and opted for wine instead. Things didn't improve with the appetizers. The waiter didn’t place the order for one of them, so we were left waiting after finishing the first appetizer. While the apps were good, the main courses were a disaster. The lamb chops were tiny, dry, and overcooked. My clients ordered filet mignon which was also overcooked. After dessert, when I asked for the check, I noticed they had charged me for the cocktail I had returned. I provided two credit cards for payment, but the waiter returned with only one. My work credit card had vanished. Despite my insistence and my clients backing me up, the waiter and manager Julian claimed they couldn't find it. The waiter even tried to blame me for not telling him there were 2 card’s while he dropped the other card on the floor in front of us. I had to use Apple Pay to settle the bill and left because we had other events to attend. The next Night, when I was already back home, the manager called to say they had found the card by the credit card machine in the kitchen. She suggested I pick it up, despite knowing I didn't live locally. When I asked for it to be mailed, she said security wouldn't ship it and that I had to contact them directly. This response was unacceptable, especially after the embarrassment and inconvenience caused. I requested to speak with her director, but I haven't heard back from anyone yet. Do not go here."

The views are great as well as the service. The food is good, but way overpriced. There’s no way to justify the high food costs.

The restaurant has a lovely view, especially before sunset. The food portions are generous and the drinks are outstanding. The customer service is top-notch. Overall, it was a fantastic experience! View menu

Service was excellent you pay for the view, but the food was not something I would look forward to getting again. Shrimp and grits had no flavor, strawberry cake was very dry and seemed thawed out from being frozen. But because of the service and view, we still had a nice time and enjoyed ourselves.

I wouldn't go to this place again. I think what makes it special is just his sight, the attention was good but the food is not worth its price, I ordered a prosciutto from the beginning and the fruit was bad, this should not happen in such an expensive restaurant, my husband's meat had a lot of fat, my lobster was good but the vegetables had no flavor, I left them whole that had no salt.

We dined at the restaurant as a party of four, two couples. The waiter charged us an automatic gratuity of 18%, which is usually only applied to parties of six or more. He did not inform us of this policy, so we ended up adding an additional 18% gratuity, giving him an extra $80. This was a disappointing and misleading experience. We plan to take the receipt back to rectify the situation and get our additional money back, as it is a matter of principle. View menu

My experience at this restaurant was extremely disappointing. The food lacked any flavor and the steaks were undercooked with a burnt crust. Additionally, there was a long wait for the main entree, even when the restaurant was not busy. Canned vegetables in the risotto were completely unacceptable. The restrooms were in poor condition with old dryers and frequently out of paper towels. The interior was outdated and in desperate need of renovation. The prices for the food and wine were outrageously high, with much better quality and lower prices available at other steakhouses. Overall, I would not recommend dining at this establishment.

The view was spectacular, however that is all that could be enjoyed at this restaurant. Two of my colleagues and I came to Atlanta for a conference and decided to splurge on a high end dinner. Our server was very disrespectful from the moment we walked in. He told us we needed to “hold the drink with two hands” scoffed and made inappropriate facial expression when I asked if I could get two appetizers in lieu of an entree as the choices were limited and not allergy friendly. The total cost of two appetizers was the same as a single entree. Their website is not smart phone capable and we did not travel with laptops so we were unable to see the current seasonal menu online prior to arriving. W...

"My husband and friend came in to grab a sandwich. They have eaten here countless times and never had any issues, until today. They ordered two sandwiches, grabbed their drinks and sat at a table. 57 minutes later, they still haven’t received their food. or any update on how long it will be/sorry it’s taking a bit longer than usual). When asked how much longer it would be before, one of the staff said they were doing a catering order first. catering orders are made in advance and you would think they would serve the customers that are in store waiting). My husband then asked for his money back and stated he actually needed to get home not to worry about it. The woman at the counter had amply Attitude and stated the sandwiches were coming out right now. Do they just want them to wrap them up. My husband said that was OK. He really just needed to get going. The girl at the front then yells to the back “nah just throw them away they don’t want them”. The manger came out and spoke for a split second, again they had been here over an hour at this point, and after the attitude from the check out gal my husband wanted to wash his hands clean of it. The manger just said “oh it will be back on your card in a business day or so”I would seek better training for your staff. All of the company supers/project managers would come in and eat together weekly. Unfortunately we will not be back."
