"I ordered the Philly cheesesteak, teriyaki sub, faux chicken sliders, and onion rings. The onion rings were outstanding, offering a great value. The Philly cheesesteak was a bit dry, but that was because I opted to remove the horseradish mayo. The faux chicken sliders were also dry and would be better served in a bowl. The atmosphere of the restaurant, complete with a pool table, was great, but the food itself was not the highlight of this city. Also, don't miss out on the incredible cookie dough they sell."

I had the Martinburger with sweet potatoes. There was an onion ring on the burger — what else to say? It was phenomenal! My partner had the Fopo chick’n Sliders and also enjoyed them. A fun mood and good drinks!

Loved the feel of this joint. Great music, crunch in chikn sliders was best I’ve had. We had FOPO and buffalo both delicious. Good variety on tap but not 99 , which I respect! Only downside smoking outside made us sit inside.

I had the Marvin Burger (Beyond Fleischpatty, grilled mushrooms, vegan bacon, vegan provolone, onion ring, t-sauce, on an An Xuyen vegan bungalow) and my husband and I agreed that it was the best we had around. Great atmosphere! View menu

I ordered the "Marvin Burger" (with a Beyond Meat patty, grilled mushrooms, vegan speck, vegan provolone, wobble ring, T sauce, on a Xuyen vegan bungalow) and my partner and I both agreed it was the best burger we've had in the area. The atmosphere was great too!

I ordered the vegan kale Caesar salad. The dressing tasted good, but there was way too much. Not only was that unappetizing, but it made the croutons soggy. I added vegan chicken for $3, but the portion was so small that it's not worth the extra cost. The salad was so disappointing that I would have given a lower rating, but I've had better meals here before.

This place is a hidden gem with awesome vegan bar food. I’m especially a fan of their sliders, fries, and onion rings, which are hard to come by in Portland made vegan. They always have good slushy cocktails too! They recently renovated and made the place much bigger, and seem to be busier which is great for them. I wish they were located more central Portland but it’s worth the drive. They do have some new staff who seem to still be learning, so patience is key.

I have the Philly, Teriyaki Sub, Fopo Chick'n Sliders and Onion Rings. The onion rings are phenomenal, they have a great bang for them I had nowhere else. felt the phillie was dry, but this is my choice because I removed the horseradish Mayo, felt that the teriyaki was also dry, could do better in a bowl. It's a great atmosphere with a pool table, but the food doesn't stand out in this city. PS The Keksteig they sell is incredible. Updated by previous review on 2022-06-19

"Boxcar Pizza does creative all vegan pizza done Detroit style. I am from NY and had plenty of pizza there in the day before I was vegan. Pizza and NY are synonymous. I would love to check out Screamer's Pizza in NY next time I am there.I have only had Detroit Pizza one other time and happened to be vegan. It was alright when I had it then. I have been to Detroit where the talented rapper Eminem is from. Detroit is where the pinball like running back legend Detroit Lion Barry Sanders played. Detroit is where I was in awe when I saw the Diego Rivera murals there. Detroit isn't known for it's pizza yet lately Detroit pizza seems to be getting popular.Detroit Pizza is like a cross between Sicilian and Chicago deep dish yet comes in a square with four slices. Boxcar Pizza was named best vegan pizza this past year in Veg News magazine so had great expectations coming here. Boxcar Pizza delivered! I went with the Viktor Vaughn pizza. The pizza came with mozzarella, cheddar, kale, red onions, ricotta, mama lil's peppers, and pesto. I got it with a side of red sauce for dipping which I recommend. The pizza was very tasty. Plenty of flavor. It was a bit rich and filling for plenty of vegan cheese was used. Perhaps a touch less vegan cheese and other pizza pies with more veggies would be nice. I like that this pizza had plenty of veggies on it. I just got this and was able to eat it all. Each pizza serves one to two depending on your appetite. If you come with a friend or spouse might be good to split one and order a Kale Caesar salad to share.Viktor Vaughn is the real name of Dr. Doom who happens to be the arch enemy of the Fantastic Four in the Marvel Comics. Viktor Vaughn is also a British rapper. There are many different kinds of pizza here and am so happy that a vegan pizza place delivers tasty vegan pizza. I hope they open up branches in other cities.Recommended!"
