"One of my favorite places in the world. We love Gideon Ridge. It’s is our 4th year in a row staying onsite and always doing dinner on Saturday night. Menu changes but still has mainstays like the awesome chicken liver pate. Great drinks and wine. The best part is the staff from hostesses to waitresses. Plus Hunter Womble and his partner Tim are fantastic cooks. Look forward to many more meals here over the years to come."

"We made our usual monthly reservation for a high-top table for two in the bottle shop, just like we have for the past 24 months. However, this time we were informed that our regular table was unavailable, even though we saw the hostess seat someone else there as we arrived. Instead, we were given the option to sit in the restaurant or at an awkward table in the back set for six, right next to a musician. We questioned our reservation but ultimately took the table. It felt like someone without a reservation took the spot we had booked. While we were disappointed about not getting our reserved table, the food and service from the waitress were excellent, as always."

"After making a reservation a week before our trip to Blowing Rock, we arrived at the restaurant Friday afternoon a few minutes before our 1pm reservation time. We were seated promptly. Sadly, that 's all that happened. We sat. For more than 15-minutes in fact. No one came. Nobody brought a glass of water. Nobody came by to say, Sorry, we 're a bit busy. We 'll be with you in a minute. We apparently became invisible. We 've eaten at Bistro Roca many times over the years and have been pleased. It 's a nice restaurant (or at least was) with prices commensurate for this level of establishment. Anyway, on this visit their customer service suddenly nosedived and couldn’t compare to the worst run McDonalds. So, faced with spending north of $60 for two people to eat lunch at a restaurant whose staff demonstrated they couldn 't care less about their customers, we left. The host, nor anyone else, said, goodbye or thanked us for coming in. Sad such a once nice place has declined some much over time."

"Wow. This restaurant is amazing. The service is top-notch, the menu is excellent, and I especially love the outdoor seating area. They have unique and fun menu items with great options. I decided to keep it simple and ordered the chicken salad sandwich with chips, and it was incredible. The chicken salad was the best I've ever had, second only to my husband's. It was fresh, real, and had the perfect texture with almonds. The brioche bun really tied everything together, and the homemade ranch was a delicious touch. The hiking guy at the visitor center recommended this place to us, and we're passing that recommendation on to you. Trust us, you won't be disappointed. And for those concerned about the crispy chips, don't worry - they're supposed to be that way! Dip them in the ranch for a perfect combination. Chips are meant to be crispy, after all!"

"Excellent fish and chips and open face beef with perfectly toasted thicker bread, mashed potatoes with a bit of skin left on and excellent, not over cooked green beans (still with some remaining texture and bright green color). I wasn’t expecting pepper on the beans so if not your preference could maybe ask the chef to hold back. Pleasant staff. We ate inside but also large patio for outside dining."
