"I did like this place. Today as usual a coworker and myself placed an online order. I go pick it up get back to work to only find that I had raw hash browns and I don’t know what was going on with the disgusting looking bacon. I called back and the girl “Angel” she said was her name told me that I should have put in the comments I wanted my hash browns well done. Continued to try to explain that I’ve never put well done and I have never received raw hash browns. Asked for a manager and there’s not one. She told me Daisy is the owner and was not there. Called back this afternoon and got the same response from “Daisy” which sounded like a 16 year old child. I don’t think myself or coworkers will be going back."

I love my experience coming to Union Diner ! The meal of beef tips over rice with green beans and fried okra is what dreams are made of ! I'm excited to come to the restaurant again and to partake in all the goodies they offer. View menu

Stopped in for breakfast and there were zero guests in house. There were 3 of us. Food was underwhelming, cold and part of order was incorrect. Our breakfast was almost $50 for 3 people... nothing crazy ordered. Gastonia really needs a great breakfast spot!

Cool little mom and poppy type spot i went to while in town for a couple days. Really big spot that’s clean, quiet and attentive staff. Food overall was good, with lots of southern options on the menu. Pictures show a combination of grits, eggs, omelette, scrapple, French toast, bologna, and biscuits.

In todays experience 5 stars is uncommon but Union Diner Restaurant is well worth it. The service was fabulous from the moment we walked in up to the tine we left the waitress (who is a relator helping out a friend) to the cook to the gentleman busing tables just awesome. The food? Really good and very reasonably priced. Wanted to go back for dinner but they are only open for breakfast and lunch. We’ll be going ba though! Highly recommend View menu

I 've had breakfast there several times and it was great. Today, got a burger and fries for a company guest and he said wouldn 't recommend it again, edible but not excitable. Burger was mediocre and fries didn 't have any salt . Company owner said I got a vegetable plate and potato salad and I couldn 't finish it. No taste and it smelled terrible. And, they forgot the corn bread I ordered The Owners wife, who picked it up said the whole place smelled awful, I don 't know what it was...

I would usually NEVER go out of my way to leave a negative review but this place really deserved it. I ordered the deuces which had a little of everything. French toast (extremely soggy as if it was just drenched in egg and not really cooked much) eggs (paid for an extra one that was 2.95 but still looked like I only got 2 eggs) sausage (burnt at both ends as if they were nuked in a microwave) and bacon (so terribly dry and crispy you would think they were meant as treats for dogs) also got a 3 dollar tiny bottle of orange juice. My meal was 17 dollars which is understandable with the price of everything going up but definitely not for this place. I would've been better off with a McDonald's...

"after I first feb on the 29th. In 2020, after reginellas pizza and Italian ristorante went, my fiancées and I were eagerly back. After I was raised in an antidote where it seemed that any other local restaurant was an Italian restorer and a grandmother who was the first generation American from palermo, I was delighted to find proud of service, food quality and serving. while the atmosphere did not call the traditional Italian restaurant, they pulled out in any other area, so reginella’s had to be marked that I had the special (something similar to frutti di mare) while my engaged penne alla vodka had with huhn. both mealtimes came with a fresh on the part and warm soft broth. quickly forward to last night, 17th juni 2020. we wanted to confirm that the restaurant served because of Covid-19 Dine-in. they confirmed they were. we had our temperatures at the arrival (smart move) and then were directed to choose from the menu at the wall and order at the theke......okay only a slight change. everything else was a quick slide. my fiancée ordered the penne alla vodka again with huh, added garnel this time, and I ordered the manicotti and asked if a side of the sausage was available. I was told, so I ordered it. I paid the $37 and found a table. when we had forgotten the order of the salat dress, I returned to say only that an salat did not come with the meal. I had accepted from our previous experience in reginella’s, plus the increased cost of meal as dinner on midday, plus my experiences in every other Italian restaurant I had ever eaten that an salat was included. it will be better (or worse) the broth sticks came cold with two cheap paper plates (Key-Augen-Hack.) then our meal times came in foil-to-go containers with the sharp edges that point vertically upwards, and added an element of danger to an already disappointing experience. instead of a piece of chicken had my finacee court tiny little chicken pieces, which were probably easy as pizza topping and looking for the garnels as the proverbiale needle was available in the heuhaufen. my manicotti came to the table with mine. my waitress solved this quickly and brought me a condiment container (2 ounces with cut pizza to load 3.00 o'clock.) I asked what it was because I honestly thought it was a small container of grilled mushrooms first! the owner should be embarrassed! this was my second most disappointing culinary experience in the gastonia and will ensure that I do not return. that is, the sauce is delicious and the pizzas they put out looked really good. I would offer the following: if they told people they were open, they would open. the people generally don't love spending hard earned money to be treated like a dog. I understand that the pandemic has an effect on the companies, but if they cannot treat how they should expect to be treated with traditional Italian hospitality, they tell them. I have to expect portofino's type treatment and get mcdonalds. also it seems that her pizza business is booming. Maybe they should remember, ristorante and their pasta courts fall, and surpass what they want. if you want pizza, I say go for it. if they want to take pasta with a very good sauce, they go for it (not to add chicken, garnel or sausage) if they want pasta from a tin foil container with cold brotsticks and not to eat a natalate, they get a pan of stouffers manicotti and eat home for $30 less."
