"I am not sure why so many of the reviews are so good with stars. Maybe it is because Queen has lots of potential to be a great restaurant. It has a charming location in the heart of downtown. Several small dining rooms make the place quiet and intimate. But we cannot taste ambience! We ordered the namesake Queen Salad and found a large salad large enough for three kind of large made with what looks like triplewashed greens from the supermarket you know the kind that comes in a bag dressed in Krafts ranch dressing with shredded Cheddar and bacon bitsreminds me of salad bars from my college dining hall. The salad foreshadowed the rest of our meal which was very underwhelming. The crab cake was bland. So was the seafood gumbo, it was thin and tasted like a vegetable soup with a few shrimp thrown in. What happen to the roux? The bright spots of the whole evening was the She crab soup and the mini biscuits and salted butter. Even then, The She crab soup is only average. The staff could have been trained a little betterour server left an unused wine glass on our table throughout the eveninghe should have cleared it since only one of us was having wine. He also did not clear our used plates until our next course was served. Our dinner costs about the same as the one we had the previous night at The Ordinary but the differences between the two meals was like night and day"

Our waitress Victoria was fantastic. Great service. The food was incredible. The She Crab Soup is a must. We thoroughly enjoyed the Shrimp and Grits and Jambalaya. Good wine list, too. Cannot wait to visit again.

Had a great supper at Queen. My boyfriend had the jambalaya and I had the fish and grits, both were very tasty. We also started with the infamous she crab soup. Very creamy. Unfortunately we didn't have room for dessert but I certainly recommend this restaurant View menu

The soup was very salty. Heirloom tomato and cucumber salad was ordinary cherry tomato instead of the delicious juicy slices. Coconut curry whole snapper was rubberized and tasteless. We can't even cut through the skin. However, staff were kind to comp dinner and we just paid for our drinks. Have to tip waiter well as he lost his deal on our table

This restaurant had the best crab cakes of any we had during our trip. Obviously made in the restaurant, they were incredible. The She Crab Soup was amazing and if you are adventurous, try the Tomato Pie.I am a huge bread pudding fan and that happened to be their dessert special the night we were there some of the best I've had. The highest complement that can be given to a restaurant is that folks will go back we will definitely go back again. We would be remiss if we didn't tell you about the **** Mary... It was so good, we went back the next afternoon to get another during happy hour at the bar.

"I just have one word that describes my experience here. WOW It was an absolute experience coming here. We were in town for my birthday and decided to eat here for my bday dinner/last night in Charleston. The vibe and atmosphere were classy, fun, and calming. They have a main bar area where you can grab a drink while you wait for a table and can be quite lively later in the evening. The dining rooms are towards the back, a lot quieter and more intimate so has a flavor for whatever you are into. The service was absolutely perfect. Our server (I wish I would have gotten her name she served our party of two at 10pm on Saturday 8/17) was so insanely friendly and personable. She knew her stuff and then some when it came to presenting the menu, but also would come chat with us and give us tips and recs for Charleston as she knew we were from out of town. They also gave us a free cheesecake and glasses of champagne on the house for our celebration. Just overall made us feel incredibly special and welcomed (we don't normally eat at places like this lol). The food, omg.....I am not overstating or being hyperbolic.......this was hands down without a doubt the greatest steak I have ever had in my life. Nothing even comes close. I had the Dry Aged Ribeye, and it has completely ruined steak for me because nothing will ever be that good. My girlfriend got the Filet, and it was in the same ballpark. Just legendary. We also got a side of the lobster Mac Cheese and it was fluffy with a perfect crust on top. Amazing flavor and texture. If you ever have the opportunity to dine, do yourself a favor and go. This was one of the best dinner experiences I have ever had. Thank you for making it a wonderful experience to the wait staff, the chef, servers, everyone there played a part and gave me a memory I will hold onto forever. Thank you!!"

"My fiancé and I were engaged on 12/22/17 and he planned our solemn dinner with Circa 1886, and it was nothing less amazing. Charles was our waiter and delivered the best service we had ever experienced. The next day we even called the restaurant to rave over our experience. The service was like a clockwork, but we were not rushed. Our glasses were never half empty and our cutlery was replaced by any course. We received free champagne regularly $34/glass) and customized congratulation menus to start the meal. All the questions we had on the menu were answered and Charles gave great suggestions for meals. I ordered the Intermezzo cocktail and my fiancée ordered the famous Scotch cocktail, both were great. We ordered the scallops and the beets and chèvre as starters. The scallops were cooked for perfection. Very buttery and melt in your mouth - I wish more than 2 came on the plate! The beet and the Chèvre were exquisite with cool goat cheese sauce. We ate every bite. 2 bite-sized free snacks were provided by the cook - one was a spoon with a cheese cube, almond and cherry, the other was a divided Lima bean soup. YUM. As for dinner, my fiancée did the 5 courses tasting menu beef pate, heirloom tomato salad, pheasant, lamb, pumpkin soap) and he enjoyed everything. The portions were generous and Charles gave me additional plates so that I could choose the different dishes. I ordered the triple potato gratin I am vegetarian and it was from this world. Very sweet and delicious. Charles then surprised me with a free dessert course of the Smores). Both plates were decorated with congratulations in chocolate - it was a very special note. When we included the $200 check with a generous tip) we felt like the experience and the food was worth 100% the money. We will definitely be back and would recommend everyone and everyone."
