Avli Taverna Lincoln Park

Tucked away in a quiet neighborhood, a cozy Greek taverna! Food was delicious and authentic. Lobster spaghetti is a house specialty but be sure you know it's red sauce when you are ready for Greek food. All of the spreads and saganaki were amazing and feta on the French fries...yum! Nice Greek wine selection also.

I love dinner at this restaurant, but their brunch menu was pretty weak. I imagined it would have something involving hummus or babaganoush or olives— but none of that so I ordered poached eggs with spanakopita. The spanakopita was yummy but my eggs were over cooked. A couple brunch cocktails but I guess people must like their endless mimosa deal. I say go her for dinner or lunch but not brunch.

Nice time sitting outdoors for dinner! We ordered a few plates to share. Recommend the Greek salad, Gyro Plate and Chicken Souvlaki. Would have ordered the lamb shank but one of our friends wasn’t a fan, so I’ll order next time as it looked absolutely delicious when served the next table over from us.For cocktails try the Watermelon margarita. We ate dinner tonight outside. The cocktails and wine were great! The beef souvlaki had great flavor but was very tough to cut and almost every piece had a bit a gristle on it. Our waiter was very slow to deliver our drinks during different courses. There were too many diners with dogs that were distracted by other dogs coupled with wanting our food. I would rather eat at a restaurant where dogs are not allowed.Parking: Parking was easy

Went to Avli with some friends a few days ago.First off, the atmosphere is great. The patio is beautiful!It was a beautiful night and it was a joy to sit out there.But the food. It was just ok.It seemed a little cafeteria like, as if they had everything ready and just warmed it up and served it to us. It was very mediocre. We were expecting so much more.I’m hoping we just went on an off night, but I don’t know if I’d spent that kind of money on cafeteria food again.I’d return just to have a drink on the patio before going to another restaurant in the area for dinner.

The food wasn’t good.I felt like I could’ve gotten better food cheaper at the gyro place around the corner from my apartment.Gyro was rubbery and dry.Zucchini chips tasted like fish.Everything just tasted blah.Not worth it, so expensive.Go anywhere elseOh, and they’re not wheelchair accessible.Went back because friends wanted to.Octopus was chewy.We asked for that lamb chops medium rare.. they were so overcooked.Zucchini chips were decent.Food came out way too fast.I’d rather wait 30 minutes between apps/ entrees than all coming out in 10 minutes.I know people now don’t like waiting, but wait for food people! Avli Taverna is an outstanding Greek restaurant that I recently had the pleasure of dining at. From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by the warm and inviting atmosphere. The decor was stunning and the staff was incredibly friendly and attentive.The food at Avli Taverna was absolutely delicious! Every dish was bursting with flavor and made from fresh, high-quality ingredients. This spot once use to be a favorite for happy hour or entertaining out of town guests for brunch or dinner. We just had a Horrible interaction with the staff of 5 behind the bar as we arrived 10 mins after opening. I don’t understand how 5 individuals can ignore the only 2 people at the bar, but if you’re not ready to be a bartender talk to people then maybe find another job or get there earlier so you don’t look so ugly and bothered at the ask of doing your job..It was a group of the most pompous, arrogant, untalented service staff I have seen in a long time.
