"My hubby and I thoroughly enjoyed our lunch at Bosko's on our 20th Anniversary. It lived up to the positive reviews I read, but also had a couple of small issues like a few others talked about. We began with Lemon Baked Artichoke with Grilled Lemon Aioli. $16 This was one of the reasons I chose Bosko's for our special lunch. It looked and sounded so amazing... and it truly was! If you even somewhat like artichokes, get these! We also ordered the garlic bread with our meals not realizing that we were in fact ordering the appetizer and evidently the large one $8 . It was extremely good and large enough to take over half home. It just would have been good to know that no bread was included otherwise and what was happening when she asked if we wanted garlic bread or sourdough bread both are appetizers and at an additional cost . In fact, there were no sides like soup or salad with our meals, either, so it was a good thing we ordered our appetizers and were in the mood to splurge. Consider the prices that I have included not counting our drinks, tip, etc and you will see it is actually quite pricey for what you actually get. When our plates of pasta came out, they actually looked a bit skimpy, but as we ate, it became clear that we were going to get full anyway with the help of our appetizers . Hubby enjoyed the Godfather with Italian sausage, roasted eggplant, garlic, roasted onions and red bell peppers in a spicy herb tomato sauce on fresh spaghetti. $23 I was craving Spaghetti and Meatballs that day. $22 I know, simple, but when it's done right, it can be amazing. Fortunately for me...theirs was amazing. This is a dish that I can really judge an Italian restaurant with. If they can't make a great Spaghetti and Meatballs, something is wrong. You may be surprised at how many can't. I just wish the price was more appropriate with not including anything at all other than the pasta, marinara, and meatballs. That or at least make it larger, so you can take some home in order to justify the price a bit better, Anyway, Bosko's definitely passed the Spaghetti and Meatball test regarding flavor. Their meatballs were seasoned and cooked really well. Lots of wonderful flavor without anything overpowering. Just like an Italian grandma might make. That goes for their Marinara, too. Perfect. Then add the fresh pasta and Wow!"

I love Bosko's! Its one of my favorite places to visit whenever I'm in town. I love the decor and the food is always delicious. I ordered the Sophia's Rigatoni. The serving was huge, definitely enough to share. I would recommend splitting a pasta dish and then ordering a salad or an appetizer to enjoy with it. The cream sauce wasn't too heavy and the peas add a nice pop of fresh flavor to the dish.

Food is good, and tasted ok. What I love about this place Friendly and prompt service Decent food Reasonable prices Minestrone soup: Hearty, flavorful and not too salty $5 off with Yelp check in (THANKS YELP!! Easy reservation What I don't love about this place All dishes are too greasy and some pasta drenched in oil They charge $2.50 if you want bread and butter! Overall decent food if you're craving Italian food.

We went to this place after some wine tasting in Napa followed by a short hike in Bothe State Park. Totally famished by the time we sat at the bar and we gobbled up the insanely nice antipasto garlic bread in seconds! The entrees took some time to get prepared but they were worth the wait! I had the Sophia's Rigatoni and was wholly consumed by the rich creamy sauce. My friends got a Margherita pizza and a pasta which I am unable to recall now. All of them were really satisfied with the food. We also tried out a couple of wines(D'asti and Pinot) and the cheesecake special. No wonder these were wonderful too! 10/10 would go back again!

This homey spot on the main drag provided me a comfy place for dinner after a long day at harvest multiple times during my 2017 stay. I could grab a seat at the bar, enjoy a solid selection of wines by the glass and a bowl of fresh pasta with a lot, or no interaction with staff or patrons as my mood suited me. Another two minutes drive and I was up the road and asleep, with a full belly and satisfied palate. The staff was attentive and friendly and the warm woods and stone give the restaurant a really relaxing vibe. My fav dish is Sophie's rigatoni, a warm rich pasta dish with chicken, a light cream sauce and crispy pancetta perfect at the end of a long day. Prices are very wallet friendly t...

Been here twice when visiting Calistoga, and it did not disappoint. The food is good and hearty, just as you would want from an Italian restaurant. A TON of garlic on all pastas though. Even when not mentioned with the ingredients on the menu, you'll still find big chunks of it on your pasta. I love garlic so I did not mind, but be warned if you're on a date. Their dishes are a bit more the American take on Italian food. Each pasta has a ton of ingredients. They also do not take reservations and it can get quite busy. First visit we had to wait for 30 minutes or so, last visit for 10 minutes. They estimated it to be longer both times, so don't let the wait time scare you away. Tl;dr It's goo... View menu

I came to Bosko's Trattoria for my birthday dinner while visiting Napa Valley with my boyfriend and we were not disappointed. Everything on the menu looked so good, I had such a hard time choosing. I ended up ordering the Basilicata (fresh pesto cream sauce with toasted pine nuts and chopped tomato on fettuccine) and my boyfriend ordered the spaghetti and meatballs. The Basilicata was so good. I highly recommend it. It was very unique to me, I have never had anything like that before. It was also the perfect portion size as I was able to finish the entire entree in the restaurant. We also ordered the garlic bread which was very good. For dessert, we shared the cheesecake, which was really fr...

We were staying in Calistoga while visiting the Napa Valley area. Bosko's is located along the main stretch so you can't miss it. There seemed to be plenty of parking along this area. We didn't have any problems parking nearby. We started off with some of their Garlic Focaccia Bread. What a great start! Garlic, herbs and cheese filled each bite. I chose to Wild Mushroom Risotto. Well, this dish was kind of a let down. There were plenty of wild mushrooms but it seemed to be very greasy. Some of the oil had settled at the bottom. I'm used to a risotto being more creamy than oily. My husband had ordered the basilicata pasta dish. Again he was disappointed with the sauce and didn't finish it. Be...

"I was so excited to dine at Evangeline on our vacation but the excitement quickly turned to disappointment and frustration. I don’t usually leave reviews online and like to give the benefit of the doubt for sub-par experiences but this was on another level. To start, we had a reservation and were seated promptly. We quickly received our drink orders and apps. The Brussels and bread were great, the fried pickles weren’t my favorite but that’s ok. Where the frustration comes in is after this point. We waited over half an hour (for real, I confirmed on the clock using 10 minutes after check in time as the baseline- we were a bit early so may have been longer than that) until our waiter came back to the table to ask for our order for mains. At that point, other tables had been served, had orders taken, etc. it felt like we were the table that our waiter decided to ignore. Other tables were also cashed out ahead of us, even later in the night when we had our payment ready before them.We were polite, we were ready when he came, I don’t know of any faux pas or protocol we could have inadvertently violated. It felt like he just decided that it was ok to ignore us. We ended up just ordering a side and dessert to get out of there quickly as it felt like we weren’t wanted or cared for there and were not valued guests. I travel frequently, I’m always excited to try new places and appreciative for the work and care by restauranteurs and waitstaff, I was so disappointed to have made such a bad choice at the place where I was on vacation and to have this disheartening experience. It may have just been a bad night but a simple “sorry, we’re busy, I’ll be with you as soon as I can” would have worked wonders to make this a better experience."
