"We had come across good reviews of Cafe Benedicte previously but last night was our first time there as the restaurant is 40 minutes drive from where we live. It turned out that Cafe Benedicte was worth every minute of that long drive. Everything were to our liking from the foods to the ambience, to the services. For appetizer, my wife had the Hummus Naan while I tried the Ceviche. Both were excellent. For main course, the missus had the Multigrain Protein Bowl (which looked very good but I didn 't sampled and I had the Braised Lamb Shank. It was super tasty and fall off the bone, fork tender. The accompanied mashed potatoes and haricots verts were excellent as well. For dessert, we shared a piece of Carrot Cakes which was soft, moist, and just the right level of sweetness. We also enjoyed the live piano throughout our meal. Before heading home, we stopped at the bar for half an hour enjoying a night cap and listened to a few more songs from the highly skilled and entertaining piano players. All and all, it was a wonderful evening, and despite the long drive, we plan to visit Cafe Benedicte again soon, and bring a few friends with us next time."

the choices we have met were some “different” elements to try. our taste expected something different. this was not due to a mistake or error in the restaurant only to our choices. we will try again in the future.

Gino provided amazing service during our anniversary lunch. The food was a great value, however, I found the paella to be lacking in flavor. The calamari, baked Brie, and rainbow trout almondine were all excellent. Can't wait to visit again!

"Food good. Location good. Service good. BUT, the hidden charges REALLY ruined an otherwise nice experience. Example: HH menu lists Martinis as a $3 upcharge to the $7 base charge. Fair enough. Bombay is a listed alcohol; requested. When the bill was returned I was charged for a Bombay Sapphire which is not on the HH list. Charge? $11 $3. I asked for Bombay, not Bombay Sapphire. Waiter: Oh, let me look into that. AND, by the way Blue Cheese olives? Extra $1. REALLY? I 've NEVER paid extra for BC olives ANYWHERE. AND the confusing menus that a dish as including an extra sauce, [and I don 't recall the exact language but it made it seem that an additional items could be selected as well. Oops, there goes an extra $10.95. AND, the waiter recommending a twice-baked potato. Bah, boom, another $5.95. [which in fairness is disclosed on the menu in a different location, but waiter made it sound as if it was a no-charge option on the surf and turf. AND the split plate charge which I don 't think was disclosed on the menu. Ding, ding, extra $3.00. Was this a waiter, who was overly up-selling or restaurant deception? Don 't know. As I said, the food WAS good. AND, the ambience [at least in the bar area, stay away of the hotel-ballroom-like main dining area was nice. Just beware the nickel and dime charges that the waiter won 't be disclosing to you."
