"This place has been a history in our life as I was 18 when dating my wife here at this very location. We currently live in South orange County, which is a good 70-mile drive, but I don't mind the drive. This past Sunday, we celebrated a birthday for which we took one of our favorite wine and I never pay corkage fees for celebratory occasions. The general manager insisted on changing the fees, which I am OK. I guess the history of knowing where I used to take the love of my life is worth more than a corkage fee. The 4 star instead of a 5 is due to the circumstances I shared."

They have bigger outdoor dining area due to COVID. Fish chips are delicious. I also was able to still watch sports as they have this outside

Hand down best hamburger I’ve had in my life. Waiters are very nice, and I love that I get to throw my peanut shells on the floor. All and all 6/5 stars if I could. Highly recommend to all people.

I have been lucky enough to have been able to eat here since it first opened back in the 60s. The cheese bread is unique and an addiction. If you like big messy burgers with lots of flavors try a basic cheese burger, so big you can split it between three kids. The blue cheese salad is the same as they serve in the Northwood Inn. Blast from the past.. Will never forget the original boat. Stopped by over the weekend. The food and presentation were spot on. Garlic cheese bread as epic as ever. Enjoyed great service as well, drinks were refilled without asking, even got one to go! If you haven’t been, you should go if you are in the area. Will go again once we are allowed to eat inside.

So who hasn’t grown up in the San Gabriel Valley (around San Gabriel, Pasadena, El Monte, Rosemead, Arcadia, Temple City) and not known that Clearman’s North Woods Inn was a special treat? I always order filet mignon when I go here. Very good! Orders come with green salad and a cabbage salad in a big bowl for the whole group. And a garlic cheese bread worth coming here alone. The meal then comes with a baked potato and rice dish. Going out for a special dinner? Come here.
