This is my family’s go to place for a nice Italian dinner (or nicer take out). They have great private rooms for celebrations as well

absolutely amazing eating! their meatballs are absolutely amazing. great food and great service. benito is the best. so humble and has some great creations.

benito was another great choice for our new year eggs. everyone here makes them welcome from liam, the bartender, to chrissy, our waitress, busboys, etc. and eating was delicious as usual. thanks for a happy new year. View menu

Food was underwhelming, very overpriced, not memorable. Bread was cold, mild texture. Olive oil was pretty decent. Orders ranged from special german sausage, octopus, shrimp, to rack of lamb, linguine with clams. free range chicken. Prices on menu were not what they actually charged for some items. They also charged an extra appetizer and when we went to dispute it, the manager of the restaurant lost her temper and just went all out. Save yourself the time and money, avoid at all cost.

I’ve had some of the best food here, meticulously prepared and incredibly flavorful. What truly sets this restaurant apart is the staff. Benny is always in the dining area, greeting guests and checking on how everything tastes. Donny manages the room and wine service flawlessly, and the servers are eager to go above and beyond for you. With everything happening in NYC, it’s refreshing to take a quick trip to Union, NJ and experience the same quality here! The wine list is also impressive.

My family has been dining at Da Benito for years, and the food is always exceptional. The atmosphere truly captures the essence of New York City. However, what really sets Da Benito apart is the warm, familial hospitality provided by the Benito family! They treat each guest like part of their own family. I recently brought my best friend from the Midwest, who had never experienced a place like Benito before. Any negative review of this restaurant comes from someone who clearly doesn't understand food. I dine out frequently and appreciate a variety of cuisines, but I always end up returning here. There's nothing else like it in the area. The service is exceptional, and the food, wine, and cocktails are genuinely outstanding—close to perfection, in fact. The seafood is incredibly fresh, and the pasta is cooked al dente, served at just the right temperature to finish cooking it as soon as it's on your table. The attention to detail in every dish (and I have tried almost all of them) is truly remarkable. I can't praise this restaurant enough! It's the best in New Jersey!

the first time here for a family dinner with my man and son. we really enjoyed it. jesus was our waiter and he was amazing, friendly and personal. he made great recommendations to entrées and desserts. he has been in the restaurant for 20 years and is understandable on the menu. I had the manzo, meerrote filet mignon with wild mushrooms red wine reduction. it was perfectly boiled and tenderly my son ordered the gondolas, delicious. we ordered a bottle duckhorn (merlot), one of my favorites. for dessert we enjoyed the homemade mango sorbet (personally popular if they wish a refreshing dessert), warm valrhona chocolate cake with vanilla bohneneis and carrot cake with coffee ice cream.
