"It's difficult for me to give a low rating, especially regarding service, but this experience warranted it. The food was outstanding, though it took quite a long time to arrive. Our main issue was that our server didn’t check on us even once while we waited over an hour for our meals. Our waters and cocktails remained empty throughout this time. I ordered a salad, which arrived about 30 minutes in, but it came without dressing or silverware. Once we finally received our food, which was truly delicious, it took another 45 minutes for our server to come by. We still had no drink refills during the wait. We had to request the bill and ultimately took it to the bar ourselves to pay, or we would have likely waited another 45 minutes."

Loved the Italian beef sandwich. Friendly service and a rather charming old school atmosphere

Award winning pizza, don’t think so. Maybe in the past but definitely not what we experienced, very clearly frozen bases. Also, check and double check the tip are accurate.

They hosted a dinner event for 65 hungry school children, and everything was managed beautifully. The service was excellent, the food was delicious, and the fries were incredible!

I would have appreciated a wider selection of beers. However, the Tavern Style Pizza is really delicious! It has just the right amount of toppings, and the crust is thin yet sturdy. View menu

Where should I begin? The cream of chicken soup is absolutely outstanding! Everything we tried was fantastic! The sweet chili wings were my personal favorite—so delicious! The service was excellent too! I will definitely be returning soon!

While there are certainly other renowned deep dish pizza places in Chicago, this one deserves a spot in the top five. It has a unique "Chicago Gangster" atmosphere that feels authentic without being overly themed. The staff is friendly, and the bartenders are skilled enough to craft excellent Manhattans and Martinis. Plus, it's conveniently located just a couple of blocks from the park and the art museum.

"Tempesta is arguably one of the best sandwich shops in the city. They make a lot of their meats in house and use high quality ingredients so you know you’re getting the good stuff. Not only can you get a great sandwich, you can purchase most of their meats to go as well as other small artisanal grocery items. I have tried almost every sandwich they have on the menu but my top two choices would be the #1 The Dante and the #2 Yo! Vincenzo! The Dante is their version of a classic Italian sandwich but a bit on the spicier side. The Yo Vincenzo is a chicken parm and I personally think it’s the best chicken parm sandwich in the city. The chicken is perfectly crispy, and they use just the right amount of sauce where it doesn’t get soggy. Both of these sandwiches come on their fresh baguette which helps set them apart from other sandwich spots in Chicago just because of how good it is. The B Franklin is also a great option, and if you’re starving get the Wagyu Pastrami but be warned it is a very heavy sandwich because of that Wagyu. The last pro tip I’ll add in here is order your sandwich ahead of time if you’re doing takeout. This is a very popular spot and is always busy during the lunch rush so if you wait to order until you arrive you may need to wait for 10-15 minutes. That should speak to how good this place is because it’s in such high demand, so if you’re in Chicago make sure you stop in!"
