"When this restaurant first opened in Pittsburgh years ago, it was really good. However, one day I encountered a dish that had too much seasoning, which ruined the experience for me. The next time I visited, I decided to ask for less seasoning, but it still wasn't enjoyable. So, I stopped going altogether. Now, about eight years later, I decided to give it another chance, but unfortunately, the excessive seasoning was still an issue. It's important to be mindful of health, especially for those with high blood pressure, and I don't want to pay for a meal that negatively affects my health. Additionally, I noticed a unpleasant smell in the restaurant, which made my experience even worse. I won't be returning to Hook and Fish again."

Stopped in for a to-go order. The staff was nice and helpful. I got catfish this time. It was pretty good. The salt was a little heavy but not too bad. The french fries and coleslaw were good as well. I would recommend this place. There is no seating for inside dining.

The staff are nice but I placed an order in-person and paid for it up front. I told them I would return at a specific time (more than an hour later) to pick it up. When I got there at the appointed time, they hadn't even started cooking my order so I still had to wait. Not pleased at all.

For example, if you order a chicken tender family dinner with fries and coleslaw, you’ll only get 12 pieces of chicken and no sides for $50. So I found a place that look like would be an awesome place to get some fish for ash wednesday. Outside of the building looks clean lights on. Then I walk in absolutely nobody's there and God knows how long the food's been sitting there cuz it looks like they haven't been there in years. So I'm just saying if you want some fish and chicken in Mount Oliver don't go to hooks fish and Chicken because they ain't serving today. LOL

This place serves the best chicken and fish in Mt. Oliver. Honestly, everything I've tried here has been fantastic; I've never had a bad meal. It's our family's go-to spot for a quick, satisfying dinner, and the quality is consistently excellent. The seasoning they use on everything is like magic—it's truly addictive! They offer high-quality chicken and seafood, hearty portions, and great prices. I'm really going to miss this place when we move!
