"We are interested in healthy food without oil. We don't eat meat, dairy, fried food, or seafood. We asked Evan to fix us a special vegan roll, not sure if he was up to the challenge. Boy, did he impress! He made two rolls: one w slow cooked mushrooms (not pictured) and also nigiri w roasted yellow peppers (not pictured). It was outstanding! He also fixed us some tofu w scallions and a simple sauce which he and his wife enjoy at home. We also got some udon noodles and steamed vegetables which were outstanding. It was so good we were practically licking the plates! We heartily recommended them to our monthly WVegan Supper Club as our members are interested in heart healthy food.Such a lovely meal everything was so delicious! We will definitely be back!!! Vegetarian options: I didn't even look for vegan options. I simply described what we wanted (no oil/cholesterol being key) and asked Evan (the sushi chef) to see what he could do to make something tasty. We were not disappointed! He gave us two outstanding vegan rolls, a plate of tofu with scallions and Dashi, and we also had a plate of steamed vegetables and a side of udon which we seasoned with fresh lemon slices and a bit of soy sauce. Dietary restrictions: We eat a WFPBNO for cardiovascular health. The chef was easily able to make several dishes without oil or fried food, meat or dairy, and they were still very flavorful and delicious. So good, we were simply astonished. Most people don't know how to make tasty food under those conditions."

Had a birthday party in the back room! Everything was excellent. Service for over 20 was phenomenal. Our food was all made fresh and served quickly. They cleaned up and put all decorations in a box for us! Perfect place for a relaxing dinner or a group event!! View menu

Unique spot connected to a bar. Loved the rustic old architecture of the space. Tuna Tartar was fresh and seared lightly. The vegetable roll was yummy, however, the eel cucumber roll, the eel flavors got lost in the over all flavors... unfortunately. Vegetarian options: Veggie maki roll a good choice. Miso soup, seaweed salad, salad, and I believe some mixed veggie dishes and tempura options.

The sushi is not that great, the sushi rice is crucial to successful sushi and the rice has no flavor. The fish quality is okay and the prices are high for the quality. This is unfortunate as last time we came for sushi and it was better. Sadly since the cost of sushi is expensive we will not risk spending the money on this sub par sushi. Keep in mind if you order salmon nigiri you will get smoked salmon, I literally spit it out.

This restaurant never ceases to please. The past couple of months have been exceeding expectations every time. The Ramen broth is exceptional, I gushed. Sushi is amazing, chef's choice on Wednesday's both here and next door at the adjoining Bar 101. I haven't had a disappointing meal here yet, and recommend this to everyone. The bamboo chicken is, and don't be fooled, elevated General Tso's with a delicious ginger note...so so good. View menu

Worst dining experience in a while. The wait was fairly long which I can let slide. After spotting a large rat, I informed staff. They still charged me for my entire meal and took some off from the meals of the others in my party. They finally gave us our food to go. I found the portion size small for the price. It was also cold nit to mention the noodles weren't even cooked... They were doughy and gross. I tried reheating in the microwave to save it after checking if it was safe and it did say. It was not microwave safe. At the end of the day I ate 1 bite of my $21 meal and will not return here. Wheelchair accessibility: There was no wheelchair accessible entrance.

I come to this facility frequently and have been since last year. Every time until now, I had an amazing time with amazing ramen! The staff is all very polite and friendly, and they're wonderful to talk to!This time, though...was a little different. I know that in most cases, it is uncontrollable to fully contain a rodent problem in a place with a kitchen. But to see it out in the dining area...? Was very jarring. There was a massive brown rat that made itself at home in the foliage near our table, and upon seeing it, I was more than a little unsettled, especially when it hopped out and bolted across the floor towards my roommate's side of the table. We requested to take our food to go and i...

"I just have one word that describes my experience here. WOW It was an absolute experience coming here. We were in town for my birthday and decided to eat here for my bday dinner/last night in Charleston. The vibe and atmosphere were classy, fun, and calming. They have a main bar area where you can grab a drink while you wait for a table and can be quite lively later in the evening. The dining rooms are towards the back, a lot quieter and more intimate so has a flavor for whatever you are into. The service was absolutely perfect. Our server (I wish I would have gotten her name she served our party of two at 10pm on Saturday 8/17) was so insanely friendly and personable. She knew her stuff and then some when it came to presenting the menu, but also would come chat with us and give us tips and recs for Charleston as she knew we were from out of town. They also gave us a free cheesecake and glasses of champagne on the house for our celebration. Just overall made us feel incredibly special and welcomed (we don't normally eat at places like this lol). The food, omg.....I am not overstating or being hyperbolic.......this was hands down without a doubt the greatest steak I have ever had in my life. Nothing even comes close. I had the Dry Aged Ribeye, and it has completely ruined steak for me because nothing will ever be that good. My girlfriend got the Filet, and it was in the same ballpark. Just legendary. We also got a side of the lobster Mac Cheese and it was fluffy with a perfect crust on top. Amazing flavor and texture. If you ever have the opportunity to dine, do yourself a favor and go. This was one of the best dinner experiences I have ever had. Thank you for making it a wonderful experience to the wait staff, the chef, servers, everyone there played a part and gave me a memory I will hold onto forever. Thank you!!"

"My fiancé and I were engaged on 12/22/17 and he planned our solemn dinner with Circa 1886, and it was nothing less amazing. Charles was our waiter and delivered the best service we had ever experienced. The next day we even called the restaurant to rave over our experience. The service was like a clockwork, but we were not rushed. Our glasses were never half empty and our cutlery was replaced by any course. We received free champagne regularly $34/glass) and customized congratulation menus to start the meal. All the questions we had on the menu were answered and Charles gave great suggestions for meals. I ordered the Intermezzo cocktail and my fiancée ordered the famous Scotch cocktail, both were great. We ordered the scallops and the beets and chèvre as starters. The scallops were cooked for perfection. Very buttery and melt in your mouth - I wish more than 2 came on the plate! The beet and the Chèvre were exquisite with cool goat cheese sauce. We ate every bite. 2 bite-sized free snacks were provided by the cook - one was a spoon with a cheese cube, almond and cherry, the other was a divided Lima bean soup. YUM. As for dinner, my fiancée did the 5 courses tasting menu beef pate, heirloom tomato salad, pheasant, lamb, pumpkin soap) and he enjoyed everything. The portions were generous and Charles gave me additional plates so that I could choose the different dishes. I ordered the triple potato gratin I am vegetarian and it was from this world. Very sweet and delicious. Charles then surprised me with a free dessert course of the Smores). Both plates were decorated with congratulations in chocolate - it was a very special note. When we included the $200 check with a generous tip) we felt like the experience and the food was worth 100% the money. We will definitely be back and would recommend everyone and everyone."
