"I mostly avoid giving a negative review, and do so only when it's REALLY bad. And today, it was REALLY bad. I didn't say anything last time, which was bad, but this time I am. I ordered a 2 meat platter. Brisket and chicken. First, it was 25 bucks. I can deal with that if it's a good portion and it tastes good. This was neither. The brisket was mushy. Think of a paper towel soaked in water. Just awful. There were only two slices, one of which was about 75% fat. My dog enjoyed it. But again, mushy and only two pieces, one almost all fat. What worker would find it acceptable to put that in an order. I can assure you if I dined in, they would never have served that. It was appalling in appearance. Gross, really. And again, just two slices. The meat was barely more than room temperature. The chicken was fine, but even that was a paltry portion. The Tate and consistency were fine, but it wasn't hot either. The biscuits were good. Bottom line: This is now twice in a row that I have been served food that simply isn't good, and the portion sizes ridiculously small. For 25 bucks. Some locations are good. This particular location is awful. Consistently bad. This now makes three of the last four visits unacceptably bad. Two in a row. No more chances. I mean seriously, they KNEW the brisket they served me was bad. Stevie Wonder could have seen that."

This is the best barbecue I've had in a long time! The portion sizes were generous, and the food was fantastic. I will definitely be returning.

Two and really good BBQ. I've eaten the first time and the portions were better dipped than when we got Togo the next day. They did not get the Togo order correctly and had to return to the car. To get smaller portions on the second trip was disappointing. Nevertheless, the food was consistent.

I visited this restaurant twice, and I really enjoyed the BBQ. On my first visit, the portions were great for dining in, but I noticed the takeout portion sizes were smaller when I went the next day. Unfortunately, they also messed up my takeout order, which meant I had to go back after I'd already driven home. It was disappointing to receive smaller portions on my second visit, but overall, the food remained consistently good.

It seems that adding the "Jim" back into "Nick's" has really made a difference! We've had fantastic experiences during our recent visits, especially since we hadn't been there in a couple of years. My wife ordered a baked potato topped with pulled pork for our son, and what we received was a potato the size of a Nerf football! They certainly didn’t skimp on the meat either—what a generous portion! It's huge! He'll definitely get two full meals out of this! View menu

The service was prompt, and the ribs, which were supposed to be two servings, ended up being enough to feed six people with some leftover. The meat was flavorful and delicious. The mac and cheese was enjoyable, though a bit too salty for my taste. Unfortunately, the collard greens were almost inedible due to an overwhelming amount of salt—roughly five times too salty! When it was just Nick's, the food was already on the salty side, but since it has transitioned to Jim and Nick's, the issue has worsened. I might consider ordering the meat again, but I won't be trying any more of the sides.

New to the area, and them not being busy really, after ordering, getting drinks, and getting a seat, it took them 40 minutes to bring us our biscuits and appetizer. The tea was pure sugar, our food was warm at best, the cheese on the appetizer wasn?t melted. We ordered two of the same app, they were delivered to the table with different things on them. I?ve paid less money for three times as much meat as I got with my entrée, and the brisket entree was mostly fat. We will not be returning. I paid nearly $70 for 4 people, 2 of which are small children, to eat less than we would?ve gotten anywhere else.

I had high hopes for some Southern-style ribs, but I ended up feeling let down. Firstly, while the ribs were definitely smoked, there was almost more bone than meat on them. Secondly, I mistakenly thought the bowl of sauce was a side dish; the ribs arrived without any sauce on them, which really surprised me because I was expecting some delicious smoked BBQ ribs. Thirdly, the ribs lacked seasoning; if they had any, I certainly couldn't taste it. The sauce was decent, but not nearly enough to salvage the bland ribs. In fact, my German Shepherd enjoyed the leftover bones more than I enjoyed those ribs! Famous Dave’s, where are you when I need you? View menu

I've given this restaurant my last chance. I've visited four times around 7 PM after work, and each time they've been out of baked potatoes. We even called ahead to confirm they had them this time, and were told yes, only to arrive ten minutes later and find out they were out. They still had an hour until closing! There’s simply no excuse for this. First, closing at 8 PM is too early for a weekend restaurant. Second, if you're open until 8, you should have your full menu available until that time. Baked potatoes can be saved and used the next day if you have extras. If you don’t want to serve them, then just take them off the menu—just like you did with Brunswick stew, which I think was a...

It’s a Jim N’ Nicks now. Simply the worst Jim N’ Nicks I ever visited. Service is terrible and the food is worse. Ordered an Uber Eats chicken sandwich a couple of weeks earlier and was not given any white sauce. The meat only cover about half the bun. There was seriously an inch from the meat to the edge of the bread. Decided to go in person. Ordered a chicken sandwich and it took forever to arrive and when it arrived it was cold. Plenty of meat this time but all dark meat. I came at an odd hour and there were only a few people there. They obviously used me to take the time to pick all the dark meat off the left over chicken. Ordered a chocolate pie at the time I placed the order for the ch...

"This was our first time coming here after several recommendations. We were told to make a reservation or there would be a long wait. I called the day before to make a reservation but got the voicemail, which explains to leave your reservation info and you’d get a call or text back to confirm. We didn’t receive a call back until a few hours before our reservation time the day of, in which they said there was nothing available so they put us down for a half hour later. I asked if there was anything earlier and they said they could put us down on a “call ahead” list so we wouldn’t have a long wait. When we arrived, I explained we were on the call ahead list and we ended up sitting down at the time I tried to make the initial reservation. This process just seemed more complicated than it had to be. Once seated, we looked over the menu and I have to say that the prices seemed very reasonable for a well-rated seafood restaurant. There were several interesting cocktails on the menu that had no description. When I asked the waiter, he sort of fumbled around and said he didn’t know what they were and took guesses. I played it safe and got wine instead Now, for the food! We had to try the Caesar salad, which was great (loved the dressing). I got the trout with corn and Parmesan fries. The whole dish was great, and I can see why the parm fries are such a popular choice. My wife got the grouper with creamed spinach and green beans. A few overall comments: sides portions are generous, and so are the wine pours! These two things just add to the value I had already perceived from the menu. We loved the vibe of the place. It has tall ceilings with lots of windows for lots of light. In the end, we really enjoyed the experience. Vegetarian options: No main courses for you. Plenty of generous sides and apps that are great. Any experienced vegetarian is used to this kind of thing, and you can still have a great experience. Kid-friendliness: We have kids but didn’t bring them to our first visit. There were a few groups with toddlers present. The atmosphere is fine for kids, but there really aren’t any food options I can imagine them enjoying. Parking: This is a small plaza, and we found a parking spot pretty easily at 5:30pm, but I can imagine this can get filled up very easily when the place is in full swing."
