"I’m a Nigerian that was a close friend to the original owner who had this restaurant for about 30yrs or so, if I’m not mistaken. We worked the night shifts together for many years and she would bring us all so much food that, we sometimes beg her to stop because, we all gained so much weight during this time. She was very kind and generous with everyone. So I stopped-by to have a taste cause I missed her Filipino food since she has retired. The new owner met with me, which I thought was very nice. He was pleasant like any other guy could be, but just needs to relax a bit. The taste was as I expected but, the price was a bit stiff for what he gave to me cause, I asked for a takeaway. I don’t mind paying a little for my food because of inflation, of course. But as long as the taste of the food and food portions remains the same, I’ll keep coming back. I would have loved to be a regular customer but, due to the price, I will just do occasional visits or so. But the food was good and the atmosphere was decent."

We had an all-you-can-eat buffet for two for just $22, and it was fantastic! I especially loved the ube, flan, clams, bitter melon dish, and the pork hock. Highly recommend!

This place is a nice place and the owner is very friendly, they have a karaoke in the back and if you ever been to the filipines you know that the locals love to sing. I had Adobe chicken and halo halo, I recommend the place.

It tastes just like what my mom would make! I purchased a Groupon for the weekend buffet, and it was definitely worth the extra money for the lechon! My favorites included the chicken adobo, pork sinigang, arroz caldo, and lumpia. View menu

Wonderful buffet with plenty of parking available. The desserts are delicious, and the soup buffet features clam soup and shrimp on weekends. Even if you're not familiar with this type of cuisine, it's definitely worth a try. I will definitely be coming back!

This place was truly impressive. Spent some time talking with the owner and he really took pride in providing the adequate amount of flavor and spices in his buffet dishes, even though it’s hard to do at his buffet’s price point. Check this place out because it’s very well priced and you get authentic filipino flavors in my opinion. Don’t be intimidated by the unique options, I felt they were all good in their own ways. Also the owner and staff spoke really good english so they could give you a good idea of what ingredients were in certain items. Highly recommend!

"Tempesta is arguably one of the best sandwich shops in the city. They make a lot of their meats in house and use high quality ingredients so you know you’re getting the good stuff. Not only can you get a great sandwich, you can purchase most of their meats to go as well as other small artisanal grocery items. I have tried almost every sandwich they have on the menu but my top two choices would be the #1 The Dante and the #2 Yo! Vincenzo! The Dante is their version of a classic Italian sandwich but a bit on the spicier side. The Yo Vincenzo is a chicken parm and I personally think it’s the best chicken parm sandwich in the city. The chicken is perfectly crispy, and they use just the right amount of sauce where it doesn’t get soggy. Both of these sandwiches come on their fresh baguette which helps set them apart from other sandwich spots in Chicago just because of how good it is. The B Franklin is also a great option, and if you’re starving get the Wagyu Pastrami but be warned it is a very heavy sandwich because of that Wagyu. The last pro tip I’ll add in here is order your sandwich ahead of time if you’re doing takeout. This is a very popular spot and is always busy during the lunch rush so if you wait to order until you arrive you may need to wait for 10-15 minutes. That should speak to how good this place is because it’s in such high demand, so if you’re in Chicago make sure you stop in!"
