Gorgeous setting. Great service. Food was bland. Friend ordered multiple vegan sides. Said they were tasteless. I had the corn risotto with lobster. Needed salt and pepper. Disappointed. But gazpacho was the BOMB

Paste minute change of plans due to getting in town later then planed. Used the app to find something nearby and glad we did. The food and drink were amazing, service was impeccable, credit to Juan, overall recommended

"Seldom do you go to a restaurant when the entire experience is flawless. To experience that in a bistro is truly a find. The term Bistro , a fanciful corruption of the Russian word for quick probably came from Napoleaon 's grenadiers who heard it during the ill fated invasion of Russia which ended in 1812. But the nature of food that is quick doesn 't lend itself to deep commitment to detail, plating as if you were at a fine dining establishment at the height of its powers. Yet that is exactly what we got at a memorable lunch June 16. Every aspect of this food screamed organizational perfection, pride in the work and most importantly, treating customers as honored guests. It has been a Thomas Keller signature to run his restaurants with this sort of care, but to actually experience it makes one believe in humanity 's ability to achieve heights which most of us can only dream of. All the dishes were executed with simplicity and love for the ingredients. The star for me was a smoked trout, which was presented not as the dry salty generic fish you get in most markets. This was a meaty, delicate filet of trout, rather reminiscent of the otherworldly herring I have had in Amsterdam. served with olive oil and simple onion/potato foundation, it just sang unique and sensuous appetizer. Salad Lyonnais is another star, simply served with perfect lardon and soft boiled egg which made the perfect greens sing with joy. Loved the wine list, with really nice half bottle and by the glass choices with great balance between big names and local finds. Needless to say we will be back for dinner, but the first impression is a major love affair. Have to compliment the thoughtful and stunningly knowledgeable staff which made the entire experience more fulfilling than many three star restaurants which deal in PR more than actual cooking. Bravo to Bistro Jeanty! Bravo a Bistro Jeanty!"

"Our visit to the French Laundry was indeed magical. This legendary restaurant earns every one of its 3 Michelin stars. We were greeted at the door and shown to our table by several staff. Upon being seated near the cozy fireplace we were provided glasses of Champaign and the night's selection scribed as a tasting menu. There were 7 of us dining that night and all but one choose the tasting menu that included meat, the other option was the vegetarian tasting menu. The menu also included enhanced supplements such as Grade 5 Wagyu steak and on this night a risotto dish with shaved white truffles. The supplements come with a premium of $135 for the Wagyu steak and $220 for the risotto with white truffles. This is above and beyond the $350 for the tasting menu. Since this was our first visit to the French Laundry we opted to not supplement our menu with either of the night's choices. They did however allow my wife to substitute the lamb with a ribeye cap at no additional charge. The French Laundry is known for its outstanding service. They did not disappoint on this visit. Each dish on the menu is delivered to everyone in your party by a team of well trained servers simultaneously, as for nobody needs to wait for the other to receive their dish. A dinner at the French Laundry includes 9 to 11 courses from the tasting menu. Each course is artfully displayed on very nice china with preselected new silverware per each course. I could not help but notice they use only the best stemware with wine. I was familiar with the glasses used when we drank cabernet and know they are priced at nearly $90 a glass. We were treated to a first course not listed on the tasting menu. It was or for what I could tell, smoked salmon combined in some sort of soft cheese presented in a cone which made the dish resemble an ice cream cone. It was fantastic and prepared my taste buds for a culinary experience I will never forget. Standouts for me included their famous Oysters and Pearls, Bread and Butter yes, an entire course featuring the best roll on the planet and the best butter I have ever experienced, the White Quail Rillette, Prime Rib of Lamb and every one of the desserts. Even the coffee was outstanding. In fact, there was not an item on the menu I did not like. Hell, stuff I would normally turn my nose up to was somehow transformed into a friggen yummy dish. Dinner at the French Laundry is nothing short of memorable. Dinner service last about 3 hours because excellence is never rushed. I have had the opportunity to dine at many outstanding restaurants featuring world class chefs but nothing compares to the French Laundry Nothing!"
