Maxwell's At The Club

After finishing a good workout at the East Bank Club… or maybe not! Lol. Brunch here is fantastic. Who knows, you might even bump into Obama!

Super! Had a gift card to use and so glad I found it. Server recommended we try fish dishes since they are always fresh. Both of our dishes were delicious! We sat in the bar area. Nice atmosphere and really great service. I would go back again, no doubt.

Met a friend here for dinner. Wonderful atmosphere with live entertainment. Spacious, well lit, inviting yet cozy. Both of our prime ribs were outstanding! The snowball dessert, to die for. Service was attentive, professional and friendly Very pleased! Will return soon again! View menu

Unfortunately, my water glass was never refilled, despite it being empty for a good portion of the meal. The restaurant wasn’t crowded, so I doubt they were short-staffed. While the server was nice, he didn't provide the level of attention I expected. As much as I enjoy the area, I think I’ll stick to avoiding Maxwell’s, just as I have for the last six years.

I went here for Sunday Brunch with my Boyfriend. They had great service. The assortment for brunch included fresh fruit, an omelette station, pancakes, French toast, shrimp cocktails, salmon, smoked salmon, bacon, turkey bacon, home fries, assortment of baked goodies, bagels, Florentine, Benedict's, fresh juice or coffee included in the buffet price of $28. I felt it was a good value for the quality of food and assortment. We will be going back.

Unless you have a friend taking you here or special gift cards, you might want to look elsewhere if you want to spend $30-40 for dinner. Whether you 're a member of the East Bank Club or not, it might feel weird to eat a fancy meal in front of a fancy gym. The complimentary crispy bread to start was oily, flaky, and perhaps the best part of the meal. A $24 flank steak was tough for being cooked to medium and the potatoes were bland. I went here because I had a birthday gift card for $50 off. My first impression was good: it seems fairly classy and they serve a nice bread basket. We ordered a roasted beet salad, fried calamari and a mushroom flatbread. The salad was pretty bad to be honest, while the calamari was average at best. The flatbread was pretty good. We then ordered the New York strip which took forever to come out. It was decently tasty but kind of tough. My biggest critiques are the slow service and and the tiny portions. The salad and calamari were tiny as well as the fries that came with the steak. Overall I'd say the food was pretty average but overpriced and they skimp on the portions.

I've been to Maxwells before, but this was my first time for brunch. During my previous dinner visits, the service at the bar was consistently excellent, with high-quality food and drinks at reasonable prices. This time, we came for a Valentine's Day brunch, and it was fantastic! The food quality was outstanding, featuring upscale options like lamb, prime rib, and an omelet bar. They also offered traditional buffet items such as coffee cakes, sausage, bacon, and eggs benedict. Even though we arrived later in the brunch service, the food was still well-stocked and fresh. If you ever need an idea for a Friday night dinner, I highly recommend checking out the Italian/Pasta Buffet at Maxwell's located inside the East Bank Club. Full disclosure, I am a member of EBC and have close connections to people at the Club and love many aspects of the country's best health club. That being said, it doesn't change or affect my opinion about one of the best deals in town on a Friday night $28/adults $12/children for all you can eat Italian antipasto and make-it-yourself pasta bar, plus dessert).
