"Nice place. Searching Google for a local place to go, I came across McCarthy 's Grill House and it looked interesting enough to try. For some reason on Yelp it 's McCarthy Family Eatery so not sure which one it 's supposed to be. Once inside, it looks like an old school bar and pub, but there 's booths and another room with plenty of tables. The place has a nice feel. There 's a pool table, an old school arcade game, and just a generally comfortable feel. The menus looked good, was varied enough, and most of the prices were reasonable. The waiter was friendly enough. They put out a bowl of chips and water upon sitting. Be careful not to eat too much of the chips, as they may fill you up before the actual food comes. I always order a bacon cheeseburger when I come to a new place simply because I like it and it 's an easy dish, that if the place messes that up then I won 't be looking to try anything else. I ordered the French Onion soup, which was good. My companion ordered the Lobster Bisque which I tried a little of and it was very good. The burger itself was good and cooked correctly, though I wasn 't a fan of the poppy seed roll used as a bun. A roll as a bun is fine, but perhaps a heads up that it 's a poppy seed roll. I 'm not a fan of poppy seeds at all, but it wasn 't the end of the world. The fries were fine. There 's outdoor seating for when the weather gets nicer. The parking lot is ok enough. It 's up a long hill, so drive fast enough and you may miss the turn into this place. Overall a nice place and I would come here again for sure."

This is a great spot for drinks and a quick meal. I usually go for the quesadilla or wings, which are both delicious. The place has a pool table and offers plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors. My only concern is the single violation mentioned here; I hope they have addressed it.

We drove past many times but finally stopped by- what a great place! McCarthy's is such a family spot- the owners and staff couldn't have been nicer to our toddler. The burger was great, as were the quesadilla and fried clams. And the backyard is a great place to hang in the summer. We'll be back!

Let’s be clear: this isn’t a fine dining establishment. It’s a great spot to relax with the locals, grab some bar food or a burger, catch a game, and enjoy a beer. While there are booths, I’ve really appreciated the big round tables when the whole family is together; they make for much better conversation. Food price quality (value) rating 8. The atmosphere is country tavern . We split a blue cheese bacon burger and had a couple drinks. The menu is quite diverse, offering pretty much everything you 'd want at a tavern, and the prices are reasonable. Local crowd, several tv 's, and a large, nicely designed outdoor patio with a stage for live acoustic entertainment. A limited draught beer selection with a few typical U.S. brews, and a couple IPA 's. Plenty of parking. Service was okay.
