"after reading either rave reviews or terrible reviews I decided to give this place pa try and it was one of the few places that had an open reservation for 6 in so short time. we arrived about 15 minutes early and could quickly accommodate us relatiw. the menu was disappointingly small and not agricultural too table as I had read somewhere. the food came out quickly and the fish seemed fish. we had the Poke salad, 2 mixed teller, the fish of the day (ahi, grilled) and a child's fingertip and a child's butter noodle. the fish of the day seemed fresh and tenderly cooked. my Poke shell was average, but was generous with the ahi. the mixing plate was somewhat disappointing. the fried fish was so thick and hearty that we thought it was chicken. the Kalalau-Pork was a huge drain, dry, stringy and too sweet. all steamed veggies were slightly muddy and blande. child noodles huh was ok. the ratio of battery to hew was like 90:10! but my child liked it so that I didn't complain. we had two cocktails that were strong and good, but expensive. the restaurant decor is somehow sad and obsolete. position wisely and intentionally (we felt we dined after sunset so that we could not see the ozean, but we could hear him) give this location potential. the menu is too small to have something for everyone, I think. if they are in the opposite, they give this place a try, but not the drive worth when they are not."

Our server wasn’t on top of her game. She admitted to that and gave us a 15% discount towards our food. The food was good and the view was awesome.

The server was good. However, the food was old and not good at all. The dish that I got was 40$ and honestly if i had known, i wouldn’t even pay $5 for it! This placy is very pricy and doesn’t deserve it at all!!!!

Pulled pork was dry, fish (ono) was dry with no flavor, breaded chicken deep fried was tasteless. Lengthy wait for food. May try one more time but this meal is not a good sign for a new restaurant trying to establish a reputation. Menu nothing like what is on their web site. View menu

the view is worth visiting in this restaurant, and there are not many possibilities in this part of kauai after it west of hanelei. we had a pleasant dinner. our waitress was lovely, but it didn't seem to be enough personal to move the dinge further. eating was quite good, but not excellent. we had a pretty loud party next to us, which seemed to enjoy their drinks. all in all we had a nice evening dinner and I would go again if in this remote part of the world.

Walked out. Don’t waste your time. I have never written a negative review on Open Table before, so this is a big move. The menu on Open Table is COMPLETELY different and the real menu was not worth the drive. We arrived on time, but had to wait 10 minutes to be seated in a relatively empty restaurant. NO ONE approached us for more than 20 minutes after seating- oh did I mention that the restaurant was not nearly full? The young man pouring water was the only one who stopped by the table. Two people did approach us as we left and we told them the same thing. UNACCEPTABLE.

"The ambience at Bar Acura is great. The servers were very attentive and polite, they even helped us to our table a little earlier than we had booked. The wine list is also good, and they prepared some really good mocktails with local lilikoi. The food itself is average. We had tomato on bruschetta which was not a traditional pan con tomate, but more a tomato in balsamic sauce for you to dip bread into. It was too acidic. We also had the clams, which were tasty enough, but the portion size was too small. The Hawaiian fish was excellent cooked very nicely indeed, but unfortunately the pineapple purée was grainy and did not work in terms of flavour. The best part of the meal was the dessert. We had tangerine sorbet and cheesecake, which were excellent. This was definitely the highlight of the email. Overall we felt that the food here was acceptable but very much overpriced. All in our bill was $200 for two of us. Food in Kauai is generally expensive so this is not an outrageous amount, but frankly we left a little hungry and underwhelmed by the flavours. When we asked for more bread, they were very stingy and brought two slices of baguette. For this price, we would expect a bread basket to be regularly replenished. This is a tapas restaurant, and the portions should rightly be small. However at these prices, they are too small and not particularly incredible."
