This is a cozy little Italian restaurant near Shenandoah. They have a concise menu that makes it easy to select the best dishes from their kitchen. It's a lovely spot to visit after sunset in the Shenandoah Skydrive area. You'll definitely appreciate their generous portions and delicious flavors.

I had a late-night dinner at this hidden gem and was completely impressed! The food was incredible—the quality was outstanding with freshly made pasta and fresh ingredients. I read tons of these reviews before giving and was a bit skeptical at first. Previous owner sounded like a very unpleasant person to put it lightly. From what I understand it is under new ownership as of April 2022. Everyone was super friendly, food was delicious and the wine the waitress recommended was very good as well. Highly recommend. Don’t be deterred by the older reviews.

We celebrated August birthdays of three people in our group of nine last Friday evening. I cannot say enough about how positive our experience was. All food, from appetizers to bread to our main entrees, was delightfully good. But what made the evening special was the attentiveness of the staff and servers. Located near Shenandoah State Park, we arrived at 9 PM on a Saturday, only to find the restaurant closed. To our surprise, the owner greeted us with two menus and kindly offered to serve us. We enjoyed a fantastic chicken parmigiana, and the hospitality shown by the owner and his wife, Elena, was exceptional. They created a warm and inviting atmosphere that felt like dining at a cozy little restaurant in Italy. We will definitely be back and can’t wait to share this gem with our friends and family! Osteria Maria is a jewel. New owners took it in early April 2022 and brought a fresh look and created things more than one notch or two. Great local atmosphere, phenomenal Italian cuisine including fresh made pasta, friendly staff. The young but experienced chef offers the best dishes you can find West of Manassas. Nice menu, not too wide, but something for all and different nutritional needs. If you are in Front Royal, this is not to be missed; if you are not in Front Royal, you should go to check anyway: .

Having spent a decent chunk of my life living in italy, I usually avoid italian restaurants since they’re more often than not disappointing. But this entire meal made me feel like I had teleported to italy for a couple, blissful hours. The familial setting was comforting and homey, and the food! We started with the octopus which was perfectly cooked and had golden brown potatoes and aioli. Then we got the pizza margherita and the gnocchi, both simple dishes in nature, which allowed the quality of ingredients and texture to shine.
