"Paperboy is very animal-product-centric. The menu had 0 options that were vegan. I asked the server which could be made vegan and he could only think of one entree and the salad. I got the sweet potato bowl with almond mole (without pork or eggs...and without getting a price reduction for it) and it was very good; however, it was missing something to bring the dish together. I don't plan to return and would recommend checking out Bouldin Creek Cafe or nearby Brunch Bird instead."

Heard so much about this place. But totally underwhelmed. Standard brunch fare. Nothing special. And way overpriced. View menu

Overheard the owner or one of the worker's dad on our plane from D.C. talking about this place. We checked it out the next day for our first Austin meal. It did NOT disappoint!! I had the sweet potato hash. It was flavorful and literally melted in your mouth. My friend had the French toast, and it was heaven! Definitely recommend

The attentive and knowledgeable staff ensures you feel pampered throughout your visit. From wine pairings to menu explanations, they're on hand to enhance your dining experience. The timing of each course is impeccable, allowing you to savor every moment. Our culinary journey began with the Wood-Roasted Octopus, a dish that set the tone for the evening. The tender octopus, kissed by the wood-fired grill, was paired with a flavorful Mediterranean salsa verde that left us craving more. The Grilled Caesar Salad was a creative twist on a classic, with charred romaine hearts and smoky dressing that elevated this salad to new heights. The main courses at Red Ash are nothing short of extraordinary. The Wood-Grilled Ribeye was a carnivore's dream, perfectly cooked to our preference and bursting with flavor. The Fresh Pasta Carbonara, prepared tableside, showcased the chef's skill and precision, resulting in a creamy, indulgent delight. The Whole Branzino, grilled to perfection and served with a zesty lemon herb sauce, was a testament to the restaurant's commitment to using top-quality ingredients. And the Wood-Roasted Mushrooms Risotto was a symphony of earthy flavors, with creamy Arborio rice and a medley of wild mushrooms. Our dessert journey concluded with the Chocolate Budino, a decadent treat that struck the perfect balance between rich and sweet, making it an ideal ending to our culinary adventure.Red Ash boasts an extensive wine list and a selection of craft cocktails that complement the menu beautifully. We enjoyed a bottle of Italian red wine that paired flawlessly with our meal.Overall, Red Ash is a culinary masterpiece that combines the art of wood-fired cooking with Italian cuisine to create an unforgettable dining experience. From the inviting ambiance to the attentive service and the exquisite dishes, this restaurant deserves every bit of its five-star rating. "I literally just made a review but I’m going to make another one because for whatever reason someone or somehow it got deleted. I used to be a regular at Bouldin and the service was always amazing but my last two visits have been by far horrible. The service has been so poor that I felt disgusted when leaving the restaurant. There are two girls that work there with light brown hair and blue eyes. Pretty sure one of their names is Rego. My boyfriend and I were served by her before and she seemed nothing but annoyed and couldn’t care less if we were in her section. Barley even interacted with us or asked how our meal was and just seemed disgusted by us, just being rude passive aggressive for no reason at all. I’m a server and I KNOW this isn’t how you treat your guests and the same thing happened tonight. She just seemed like she couldn’t care less if we were there and just seemed annoyed? I don’t mind paying the gratuity if I’m being treated decently but that wasn’t the case and I feel as though they feel like they think they can get away with behaving like mean girls just because there’s a gratuity. I have friends that dine here as well and they have had the same experience. I’m not one to write reviews but I feel this needs to come across a managers attention so they know who they are hiring and how they are treating customers. Really disgusted and disappointing and if this gets deleted again I’ll write another review or just call the store to speak to a manager. Disgusted by their behavior."
