"Peking House has been a long-time favorite in the Brooklyn area, but it's time for a serious update. Unfortunately, the food was not good. I ordered shrimp fried rice, which was nearly inedible, and two extremely greasy egg rolls that were dripping with oil. That wasn't even the worst part. The glass doors to the restaurant were filthy, and inside, the carpet looked gray and worn. The floors were dirty, and there was an unpleasant odor in the food ordering area. The soda refrigerator was in terrible condition as well. The chairs were stacked on the tables, and they were also dirty. Although this small restaurant gets a lot of customers and takeout orders, it seems they will remain open due to the volume of business. Has anyone else noticed these issues or experienced any health problems? Thank you."

So I treated me and my home girl out for dinner. The food we got was so nasty we threw it in the trash I will not ever buy it again.

The staff, particularly the women, are quite rude. Their behavior was so off-putting that I decided to stop visiting the restaurant. They could certainly benefit from some manners training.

I ordered a large shrimp and broccoli, a small shrimp and broccoli, and a beef and broccoli and all were cooked in the same wok because I had an allergic reaction from the shrimp even though I ate the beef only.

I also had a major issue with my bill—my total was supposed to be $31, but they charged my card $310. When I called to resolve the mistake, they made it seem like it was my fault for their error. In short, I would say that you shouldn't expect any quality service from this place. In my opinion, they really should be shut down. I hope the owner sees this and gets in touch to fix the situation.

"Highly recommend Sweet Peaz Southern Kitchen! The food is served fresh and hot. We were a party of eight and ordered Fried Whiting with Yams and Mac n Cheese, Chicken and Waffles, Fried Chicken Wings, Chicken Tenders, Fried Shrimp, French Fries, and Collard Greens. The Sweet Potato Waffles were absolutely delicious! The fried chicken, shrimp, and fish were cooked perfectly and tasted as good as they looked. The seasoning was just right—not too salty, allowing the flavors to shine. The yams and collards were a real treat for the taste buds. And the cornbread? Simply amazing. My only disappointment was that the first taste was free (haha). The Mac n Cheese was decent, but the Chicken Tenders didn’t quite live up to their name; however, they did remake them for us to take home. The space is small and simple, with old-school music that adds to the enjoyable dining experience. They limit dining to one hour to ensure everyone can enjoy the food, which I appreciate—I dislike when people linger for too long when others are waiting. The staff were friendly, making us feel valued and appreciated. Prices are reasonable. One downside was that many items were unavailable, including grits—which was a big letdown since I was looking forward to the famous Shrimp and Grits—as well as butter, potato salad, seafood salad, and tartar sauce. I recommend calling ahead if you’re craving a specific dish. Despite this, it was a great dining choice and lived up to the positive reviews. Overall, we left satisfied and would gladly return. Parking is street parking only, as there’s no dedicated lot."
