"Attended my first Elite Yelp event at the Mill Creek Tavern in Bayville. I attended other events as a plus one but this was better because now I was elite and I already knew some of the players like my friend Bill S who introduced me to this wonderful world of Yelp. What makes these events great to me are the friendly yelpers who attend with their honest fair reviews and most important is the generous hospitality of the restaurant owners. Once we arrived the Mill Creek Tavern Staff had everything prepared waiting for us. We started with their specialty drinks, Dark and Stormy, Pumpkin Ale and Sang-Rose with sorbet. My fav was the dark and stormy, Black Rum, Pumpkin Beer and Lime Juice. Then all the samples of food came out, Filet Mignon Crostini, Seafood Ceviche, Mussels Provençale, Sauerbraten Short Rib Sliders, Jager Schnitzel Sliders, Pan Seared Sea Scallops, Mac Cheese, Brat in a Blanket, Pretzel Baked Brie, Burrata Crostini, Shrimp Cocktail and Artichoke Risotto Cakes. There was so much to choose from, It was like cocktail hour at a weeding and the food just kept coming. Then desert, I was already full at this point but of course had to try. Berries Cream, Chocolate Mouse, Mini Purple Cow Floats and Mini Brownie Sundays. All were delicious. The event went fast, everyone was enjoying themselves socializing, eating and experiencing great service. The staff didn't miss a beat, they just kept coming out with food being efficient, friendly and courteous, even the owner Rich came out and not only served food he also mingled with us speaking to everyone and making sure we had everything we needed. This was a great time seemed to be had by all. I know a lot goes into this planning one of theses events. I am grateful for the Rich, the owner for opening up his restaurant to us, the staff for just great services and to Drew for organizing this. Mill Creek Tavern is a great place to eat, not only is the food really good, the décor is very pleasing, they even have a fireplace. One can enjoy this restaurant year round. I will return and would definitely recommend dining here."

"I had been really looking forward to going here with my girlfriends, unfortunately we were all disappointed. I ordered a s’mores martini, waitress/bartender brought it over and said they were out of graham cracker rim and marshmallows. Handed me a regular looking espresso martini that I was charged $19.99 for as a “s’mores”. Did not provide opportunity to switch to another martini before delivering this sad, overpriced drink that was missing the main ingredients making it a “special” one. Food was mediocre at best. Had ala vodka pasta and asked to add grilled shrimp instead of chicken. They gave me 3 shrimp and charged $12.99 for it. Again, a little sad and overpriced. Service was greatly lacking. Waitress never came by to check on us during the apps or main course. Had to ask bus boy 2x for salt/pepper, which we didn’t get until end of meal. The dining room/bar area is pretty, however the giant mirror/specials board was completely smudged/erased is several spots couldn't really make out what it was saying and it looked super sloppy. For the price they charge and the terrible service received I would not recommend and will not be coming back. Food: 2 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 2"

"Not worth it Very pricey food, small portions and bad service sum this place up. Notified the restaurant through opentable that we were celebrating an anniversary and requested a special table. Instead, we were seated on the second floor directly next to an incredibly rambunctious party of 8. Really? Server suggested we move to a quieter place another table opened up and we asked to move. It took us 2.5 hours to finish dinner. Took 30 minutes to get our first drink order. 20 minutes to get coffee. By the end, we were one of the last tables still seated and we just wanted to get out of there. A manager shook hands with the tables around us (ignored us) and they seemed to get prompt service so if you know someone here, then it'll probably be worth it for you? Otherwise skip it and go to Manhattan."

"My friends and I came here for dinner after checking out nearby Coe Hall and Planting Fields Arboretum. It was such a nice day out, so we opted to do outdoor dining in front of the restaurant. Upon being seated, we were served complimentary bread, including sesame seeds roll and mini baguettes. Both types of bread was warm and fresh, and was so tasty with butter. There were a couple of menu items I was eyeing, but finally decided to order the Roast Long Island Duck $34). The duck came topped with Bing cherry brandy sauce and was served with rice pilaf and assorted vegetables. The duck had decently crispy skin though it could've been more crunchy), along with tender, succulent meat, which was soaked in the aromatic, slightly sweet cherry sauce with a delightful hint of brandy taste. There were also actual soured bing cherries on top of the duck, which was a lovely touch. The rice pilaf was cooked perfectly and a great accompaniment. The medley of vegetables included broccoli, carrots, zucchini, and yellow squash. This was simply prepared, but made just right and pretty good. I got to try the lobster mac and cheese, which was absolutely delicious! Incredibly cheesy, with plenty of wonderfully well seasoned lobster filling. Service was decent. Our waiter was friendly and was on top of it. I just found the food to be a bit too expensive. I'm not sure the duck was worth the $34 it cost. If I am back in the area, I would probably look for a more reasonably priced place to eat."

"Love a good chai (extra hot) and fresh bagel on a Sunday morning. Friendly team, good music, and super clean inside and out. There’s a beautiful bar if you’re dinning in and need to get work done, or the patio set up in front so you can catch some sun rays. I’ve seen families come in for the pizza but haven’t tried it yet. Excited to go back for dinner one night! Service: Take out"
