"Our neighbor Cassidy recommended the restaurant (owned by a cousin of a friend of her family. So far Cassidy is 2 for 2 on great places to dine. The experience brought back fond memories of a trip to Italy several years ago. We were greeted warmly at the door, seated promptly at a nice table and introduced to our server Raphael who was extremely pleasant and professional, He brought us our cocktails (exactly as I desired and explained the specials of the day, all appetizing but we stuck to the menu which we had time glance over. We split the mussels as an antipasti, which was a generous portion nestled in a delicious broth. My husband selected the short rib, so tender that he said a knife was not needed to cut it. I had one of their signature dishes, Pappardelle alla Bolognese which was full of various meats and rich with flavor. We passed on dessert but were treated to a glass of Limoncello at the end of our meal, The owner was not present but the manager Tristan was very gracious and thanked us for coming. I will certainly return if I am in the area again."

We had a lovely dinner at the cute restaurant. The timing of the food brought out was spaced out enough for us to enjoy each course and not feel rushed. All of the staff was very attentive.

I’ve been going to Sfoglia for many years and it’s always excellent. If you go here, you must order the Pappardele Alla Bolognese and the Bread Pudding. Both are spectacular. Workers are all super friendly

There is a reason this establishment has lasted. The decor and ambiance is charming, the service is excellent, the food and beverage top notch. Sfiglia will always be one of my go-to places for a special occasion. View menu

I was not surprised to see many reviews that rated the UES Sfoglia less than five stars…Unfortunately, many of these less than five star ratings were still far too generous. Nantucket purged the place and so should the UES.

I treated my 3 adult daughters to a birthday dinner and it was a huge success. We four shared two very creative salads, two excellent pastas, and two orders of scallops over Israeli couscous. Every dish was a masterpiece, as was the fine Tuscan wine we paired them with. A memorable night.

It has been better. Tomato sauce on the spaghetti was watery and had no depth. They used to make the most incredible bread pudding it was like a soufflé, with a custard center. No more. Soggy bread which fell apart, no sauce inside. I used to look forward to that dessert. The Caesar was good. View menu

We don't live in NYC, but have visited Sfoglia (at least) three times in visits here over the past few years. Everything about it is perfect the service, the food, the wait staff is appropriately balanced between friendly and non invasive. They know their wines, which is always helpful and appreciated. Thank you for a lovely evening. We'll be back.

My wife and I have been to Sfoglia every Valentine’s Day since we met. We’ve also celebrated big moments there as well. The atmosphere is perfect for a romantic dinner. The waitstaff and managers are over accommodating in the best way. Finally, THE FOOD. Is. DIVINE. Their flatbread is easily the best appetizer I’ve ever had and I didn’t even know what figs were, haha. Their pappardelle bolognese is honestly the signature home run dish. You won’t find better anywhere. If you’re not a meat lover go with any of their other homemade recipe pasta and you won’t be disappointed. IF you’re lucky enough to get their special apple dessert with cinnamon ice cream, oooooo good lord you better get it! Te...

"We went to Bread N Wine on a early Saturday afternoon for brunch. We were greeted and seated by the servers who were attentive. The food was okay the bread was really soft and fresh. My partner got the French Lentil Soup, Spinach and Tomato Egg Bake andI got the French onion soup, egg omelette with spicy tomato avocado and onions. I wasn 't happy with my omelette because thespicy just meant it was covered in hot sauce within. For beverages, we got chai lattes (we later found out it wasn 't tea basedbut rather coffee) and we had the option of oat milk, almond milk or regular milk. In terms of our overall experience we feltby the end too many things were steering the experience south; the worst was when we were accused of using counterfeit money topay for the tip. There was no special marker used to prove that the money was counterfeit or technology to back up this claim. That experience alone left a bad taste in our mouth as we left embarrassed by that claim, kind of shook from that, we stilladded the tip to our credit card 18%. As we walked out and talked about how weird that was, the owner of the business nextdoor overheard us and asked to see the $20 bill he showed us that our money was real and validated what we knew, that themoney wasn 't counterfeit. When we went back into Bread N Wine to discuss this there was no apology, just well, it felt thatway , shrug. It left a terrible feeling. We would not go back after that, this is not how you treat customers from start tofinish, hence the 2 star review."
