"Really disappointed to be writing this, because we should have just left. We went for a late lunch after day of rafting on the river nearby as a diverse group of 6. It wasn't busy were one of 3 tables inside. Half of us found a table and one of the two waitresses brought 3 menus and that was the last we saw of her except for her nasty glares every time she walked by. Long story short, we watched the two waitresses go behind the bar, shoot us glances/point at us and appear to argue over who would serve our table. Eventually, they pulled the older gentleman bartending into it and the bartender ended up waiting our table. We had no interaction with either waitress except to thank her for dropping off the menus. We watched both waitresses be polite and attentive to the other tables while shooting us looks and occasionally pointing at us. To other reviewer's points service was excruciatingly slow. Maybe it's because for the first 30 minutes they were hoping we would just leave? I don't know. It was an incredibly uncomfortable and disappointing experience. Please don't patronize this place. If you're in the area for an activity, it's better to just hit up a taco bell once you're back on the highway with this place far in the rear view where it belongs."

Horrible food. I ordered mozeralla sticks that were unedible. Dozen of dead flys in bathroom. You get a beer that is half fun of foam. Never again.

If there's no where else than stop here. You'll get less than par service with an extensive wait.... even if there's only 5 customers in the place.

Food was excellent with an ample portion. Prices are very reasonable especially for what you get. I have been there before and will definitely return.

Literally the worst service I have ever had. The bartender complained the entire time about making drinks, lol! Actually complained and said I shouldn 't even be working right now but I picked up this shift had to ask for more drinks and flag the waitress down once we sat ourselves at a table. The food was disgusting. warm, not hot. We waited for about 20 min to get our bill. We moved to Barryville one year ago this July decided to check out our local restaurant and needless to say we will never go back. It was a depressing meal, depressing and not very clean atmosphere and the service was awful. Save your money.

I arrived at my room/cabin to find the door ajar...As you can see it had been busted open, and would not lock you can see where it had slammed in to the drywall. Not sure what was up with the tv see photos. One bed had like a fake, almost gym mat type mattress. Funny that the soap dishes were ripped off the shower wall, and laid in the tub...I should have known when we checked in and I was to look for the sort of road ...It was 10:30PM and the restaurant was closing, that 's how you check in otherwise I would have complained or tried to find another place...Couldn 't find a way to checkout so I just left. I know upstate NY, and appreciate rustic well it will be funny in time...maybe the food... View menu

Great owner. Guy went out of his way to help me out with a last minute reservation make us feel welcome. He really went above beyond for us. This isn’t the Waldorf Astoria, but it’s a clean, comfortable reasonably priced hotel designed for the weekend warrior. The river is right there, so this is an ideal spot to stay if you’re taking a river trip at one of the many boat rental organizations. We’re not big fans of camping (or the types of folks who enjoy camping), so having this ‘adult’ option is great for when we visit the river. Hotel is much quieter than a drunken campground. There’s a bar/restaurant attached. Typical bar food. Pretty good fried food selections. Decent burgers, too. If yo...

We came here for dinner back in December of '21 and it was great. Service was fast despite how busy they were, food was good. Went for dinner again tonight, 6/29/22, and will not be returning. The waitress/bartender that was waiting on us was rude and unprofessional. We waited over an hour for reheated food that was cold anyway. They were cleaning up after a wedding, and the wedding party was still in the restaurant. The waitress continued to let the party in and out of the kitchen with her as she walked back and forth around the dining room with an unlit cigarette in her hand. Asked for a refill multiple times and instead she was too busy taking shot after shot at the bar. Ordered appetizer...

"The first thing that hits you is the chaos: there's a huge crowd waiting for takeout pizzas in the front area. Once we finally made our way into the dining space, we found that there was just one waitress for the whole restaurant, juggling serving, cleaning, and running around. When she greeted us, she simply said, "No menu. Only pizzas." We accepted this, but then, just moments later, she returned to the table next to us with calamari, soup, and what looked like stuffed mushrooms. It was confusing! When she finally came to take our order, we asked about the non-pizza dishes we had just seen, and she clarified that we could order appetizers. So we went ahead and ordered calamari and a pizza. The calamari was better than we expected, although it had a strong fishy smell that made us wonder about its origins in the frozen food aisle. The pizza, however, took an eternity to arrive—nearly 45 minutes—and it was not worth the wait. It was bland, chalky, and overly doughy, topped with canned mushrooms and suspicious sausage. We ate it out of hunger, but it left us feeling uncomfortable afterward. I’m not sure why this place was the most popular spot in town on a Friday night, but it's likely due to it being the only option available. Call us city snobs if you like, but honestly, there was nothing positive to say about Il Castello (more like "Castle of Pizza Hell!")."

"If I could give Cedar Rapids Bar and Grill 0 stars I would. From start to finish we had a terrible experience. After we ordered we waited 20 minutes for our server to come out and let us know they were out of mozzarella sticks. No big deal but another 5 minutes passed and the cook came out to say the same thing. It took 45 minutes from the time we ordered to get our food. We order 2 smash burgers, chicken tenders, and a kids burger. The menu promotes a “smash burger” that includes lettuce, tomato, onion, sauce, 2 patties, and cheese. What we got was two hockey puck like meat patties that were clearly premade frozen patties and no lettuce, tomato, and onion.because they “ran out”. There was no “smash burger”. Not only were the patties previously frozen but they were hard and over cooked. When I asked to speak with someone about the food our waitress disappeared. After 15 minutes I went inside to speak with the manager. I tried speaking with who I thought was the manager at the bar to let her know I needed to speak with someone about the food and wanted to be discrete. Not only did she dismiss me but she went into the back and was slamming doors. After another 15 minutes of no one helping me, I tracked our waitress down to pay the bill. $80 for inedible food I wouldn’t even give to my dog. Unfortunately, other tables had similar experiences. I’m not sure how Cedar Rapids Bar and Grill has 4 stars and good reviews. I would seriously consider supporting any other local business."
