"I am writing this review after emailing the establishment with zero response after a week, which is incredibly sad and unprofessional. My mother, (a kindergarten teacher) flew into Boise to visit me and I wanted to show her my favorite town; McCall. I was excited to show her this place however the hostess was incredibly rude to us. She acted like we were a burden and refused to make eye contact with us when we asked her about checking is for our reservation. My mother asked her for an another set of silverware when we sat down for my daughter and she did not acknowledge her and just handed it to her. Once again making no eye contact. During our meal I kept watching her give us dirty looks which made me extremely uncomfortable. We then stood up to leave after after our meal and she almost bumped into my 3 year old daughter as we were exiting. My mother politely said “excuse us” with smile and she once again acted like we did not exist, no eye contact, refused to acknowledge us with a cold shoulder. What should have been a wonderful experience was ruined by a staff member who treated us poorly for no reason. It appears that this hostess has been reviewed before on here for her poor behavior and the establishment claims they would “handle it”. Just like they handled my concerned email I sent them a week ago. I would personally skip this restaurant due to the wait times for staff taking your order, food is okay but not worth the expensive price tag and especially due to the hostess. The establishment obviously does not care about the feedback of their staff’s rude behavior"

The Cutwater is a great place for a quiet family meal. Excellent service and ambiance is fabulous. Menu could expand a little but what they offer is very good.

The menu options were limited ad some things on the menu were not available. They were out of beef. The service seemed slow for the number of people who were there. Service: Dine in Food: 4 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 5 View menu

Very clean, fast, and well maintained. Food is delicious and never disappoints, a little bit on the higher end but it’s worth the money, especially in the McCall area. My husband and I came up for his birthday weekend, and I booked a table online easy to do and followed up with a phone call to make sure we got a table with a lake view. Cutwater delivered hugely got table right next to the lake, had a great appetizer of potato croquettes, wonderful mains of the ribeye and halibut (slightly overcooked to my liking but nice and flaky), and the strawberry roulade for dessert. However, when I booked, I mentioned we were going for my husband's birthday, and they also surprised him with a cupcake so sweet and thoughtful. We definitely recommend it to everyone!

"As soon as we walked into this place we both felt like we were not welcomed there. The waiters gave us a look as if we couldn’t afford this place which we ignored at first. First red flag of this place was when they said they don’t have gluten free pasta substitutes and you can only choose from the GF dishes. Although, the cherry on top was when we got a HAIR in our food that was clearly not ours. I felt nauseous for the next thirty minutes and the only reason we ended up staying was because the waitress made an impression our dinner would be covered. Throughout the whole experience after that, the waitress took a long time serving us, especially after I brought up the check. They fought us on the check for 20 minutes. After which we ended up paying. This whole time the restaurant staff was acting like we put that hair in the food ourselves. As I confronted the manager about the experience and the treatment we received in a kind manner, she pretended she couldn’t believe it and said that could never happen there. The only good part about this whole restaurant is the view. This is so far the worst dining experience I’ve ever had in the US. Edit: The restaurant could’ve handled this situation so much better. They have a poor reputation throughout the city with hiring staff that gets fired everywhere else. Instead of arguing over this situation, they could’ve apologized and handled it in a way kinder manner. The staff and the owner do NOT seem to know how to act. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1"
