"Wow, what a pleasant surprise! The barbecue I tried was really impressive, but it's their overall consistency that makes this place a great find for a small city. I can't comment on the service too much, but they handled a busy graduation day as best as they could. The grilled cheese, hush puppies, onion rings, shrimp, and pulled pork – everything I tasted ranged from good to very good. If you're ever in Starkville, definitely check this place out. The prices are a bit high for a college town, but that’s something I'm accustomed to. However, the local students mentioned that they’ve been going less since prices increased. Just thought I’d share that!"

I had the oyster pb and one side. yes I know this is a strange combination. it was very good, but could have used a little tarter or other spicy. next time. it is a unique place and atmosphere.

I got the crab cluster with shrimp and it was good! The only issue was that it needed seasoning so I had to add some with the Cajun seasonings they had on the tables! My mom enjoyed her catfish red beans and rice!

Stopped by today for lunch, surprised at all the upgrades inside! Food delicious as normal, I had Catfish hubby had the pork plate. Quick delicious! Had to park at the annex but worth a short walk. The staff are really nice helpful!

good service, but eating was not so good. I had the rib tips and I bore. the beans were too thick and the rib tips were too burnt. I didn't like the bbq sauce. the price of eating was not bad, although I will try again in the future. View menu

Best BBQ I've ever had! The pulled pork was delicious. Also, the basket of fried pickles was massive and beyond worth it! The fried okra and greens were really good too. The service was great, it was adorable seeing the owner, older gentleman, still walking around helping.

A town favorite for everyone. All their food is delicious. My favs are their Red Fish grilled 5 star, BBQ Pork sandwich awesome, Baked Beans are good, coleslaw is very good too. Iced Tea is souther brewed. Most all their food is very good. Home cooked Southern Comfort I say. Try it you'll like it.

The food was decent overall, but I’ve had better BBQ at other restaurants. The fish, however, was the best dish I tried. They really need to work on their drinks, as they seemed flat. The sweet tea was barely sweet at all. On a positive note, the service was good, and the BBQ nachos were enjoyable. The menu had a lot of great options. View menu

My only regret when visiting this restaurant was not coming hungrier! My friend and I ended up sharing one of the daily specials (pulled pork sandwich) and we got waffle fries and a side of mac and cheese to go with it. The food was great and the restaurant had such a unique southern charm to it that I loved. Our food also came out pretty quick and was delivered to our table which was a nice touch for a counter-service restaurant!

We arrived just before 8:00 PM, and the website indicated a closing time of 9:00 PM. However, the staff was already cleaning up and informed us they actually planned to close at 8:00. This came off as quite rude. They also refused to serve the pre-made desserts for our children after our meal, citing the closing time, even though it was only 8:30 and the website said they were open until 9. Additionally, some of our food was served cold. Overall, the service was terrible, and it’s not the same experience we had three years ago!
