"Once seated, we hoped the food wouldn't take as long as it did last time, especially after waiting so long for our reserved table. However, after ordering drinks and food, we waited over an hour and a half for our meals. At that point, it was already 8:30 PM, and we asked if there was any bread available since we hadn't expected to still be without dinner. The waitress informed us they had cornbread for $0.75 each, which felt quite ridiculous after everything else. To make matters worse, the waitress came back to inform us that one of the meals we ordered was unavailable after we had already waited so long. It was baffling that this wasn’t addressed beforehand! Another concerning sign was that everyone around us was still waiting for their food as well, with some visibly frustrated customers even getting up to leave. Our meals finally arrived around 8:50 PM. I had ordered a salad with chicken, and the waitress mentioned it was still being prepared—despite it being just a salad. Twelve minutes later, after the rest of our party had already started eating, my salad finally arrived. What shocked me most was the complete lack of apologies or concern regarding our poor experience. Simple gestures like apologies, good customer service, or even offering bread or appetizers could have made a big difference, but that didn’t happen here. I strongly advise against dining here unless you enjoy poor treatment and waiting over two hours for mediocre food. I did hear from some at the table that the mac and cheese was good, but judging by the other reviews, it seems this was just another typical night for them—where the customer is always wrong!"

Absolutely worth a special visit! It's not as pricey as this app indicates. You can have wonderful dinners for under $12. Don't miss out on the gumbo—it's a must-try! The sweet potato pie is also exceptional.

I would give this place zero stars if I could. I made a reservation a week in advance and drove nearly an hour from Greenville. We arrived 15 minutes early as requested, only to be informed that it would take 45 minutes to get a table and that the kitchen was running an hour behind on orders. This is absurd—what's the point of having a reservation if it just wastes my family's time? If you’re seeking terrible customer service, this might be the spot for you. It's a complete joke!

EXCELLENT! I've been to Rocky Mount several times in the past few years, but I only recently found this hidden gem. Until now, we had been limited to the usual chain restaurants for dinner, which are fine, but we prefer to discover good local places, and this one has certainly made our list. We took the family there before boarding the Amtrak to Florida, and to say the food was GREAT would be an understatement. Everything we tasted was outstanding! We will definitely be returning. Around 9 PM, the waitress told us that our food would be ready soon. However, I chose not to have my meal served due to the long wait. I had previously enjoyed the food at this restaurant during an earlier visit to Rocky Mount, so I was quite disappointed. I understand that weekends can be busy, but I didn't expect such a lengthy wait on a Wednesday night. Unfortunately, I can't recommend this restaurant to my family or friends. Additionally, when we expressed our concerns, the waitress attempted to bring the owner to our table, but she declined to come.
