"I have lived my whole life in Newburgh and I have always gone through this little restaurant on DuPont Avenue and it was always busy, but I have never been there until last night. Boy, I wish I stopped a lot earlier! Absolutely amazing place where they were employees welcomed and helpful both the hostess and the waitress were excellent. At first my drink came out and it was very tasty and strong at the same time I don't know how it did, but all you need is one and your feeling good. Next the Mozzarella frites came out and they were perfect came extra cheesy and you can say it was excellent cheese they used. My steak came with a side of penne, which was ingenious both eye pleasing and plissing stomach. decided to treat myself to a desert and I was not disappointed! The lava cake was all you wanted. Overall very satisfied would recommend everyone."

Excellent dinner. Excellent service. Enjoyed the background music. Not too loud just soft music. We drive 80 miles to go to this restaurant with our family.

Love the ambience. Service was a bit slow. We went there around 3:30 so it wasn?t that busy. Our food was delicious ? We had calamari and 2 salads. Both items were proportion properly and worth the money.

We arrived a bit early for dinner, and by 6:30 PM on a Thursday, the restaurant was already packed. I can see why it’s so popular! The food was delicious and plentiful, the service was fantastic and attentive, and the atmosphere was wonderful. Overall, it was an amazing culinary experience. View menu

I could not have been more impressed by the quality of both the food and the service. The serving sizes were massively-inspiring (just like my Italian grandmother used to dish up) and delicious. Our wait staff was professional and prompt. This was my first visit to Vesuvio's Ristorante, and my only regret was that I had not been here before.

Additionally, I found it a bit off-putting that the waitress responsible for cleaning tables kept coming over to check if my friend had finished her meal, even though my friend was still eating. The restaurant wasn’t busy, and it was around 7 p.m. on a Sunday. While this experience won’t deter us from returning, I won’t be ordering the fish again. Overall, I felt let down—I was really looking forward to enjoying a great meal, but it just didn’t meet my expectations. I hope it was just an off night.

I'm not typically one to write reviews; I usually just eat and leave. I usually let my wife handle them, but I felt compelled to share my thoughts this time. The food was outstanding, the portions generous, and the staff was friendly, professional, and always there when we needed them. The dress code was slightly more than casual, so we appreciated being able to step away from the street. Although we didn't have a reservation, we were promptly seated with a warm welcome. Thank you, Vesuvios! We'll be back soon! View menu

Went here last month for dinner, and our kids loved it. The last time I was here before was in high school around 1995. The way it looks now is amazing. The outside is of the restaurant was renovated nicely, the inside was spacious and not too crowded with tables. Went with the family again the other night and was not disappointed. I have to say that the staff here is super friendly and pleasant to talk to. Looks like we've found our go-to restaurant in orange County. The food was fantastic and delicious. I can't wait to taste their entire menu. Thank you, Vesuvio's. We can't wait to come back.

The food was great and everyone was very nice to us for our birthday dinner. However, some family members felt hurried as the servers were pulled away while they were eating. I had to apologize to them in the name of the restaurant. I was embarrassed and it was my birthday (a few weeks ago). I guess we'll order forward. Never a problem. I understand you need to turn tables quickly, but we were barely there for an hour. I don't like feeling especially as a regular paying customer. I know it sometimes happens, but if my family members don't feel welcome, put me in a very difficult position to deliver positive feedback. I will change my review if there are improvements.

"DONT COME HERE IF YOUR NOT WHITE. The owners are extremely racist and they will make sure you feel uncomfortable as soon as u walk in; you just feel their eyes already judging you as u walk into the restaurant it’s the two overweight Italians specially the lady. I am a regular at this place I go there so much that the servers already know my order. The servers are very nice and friendly. I always tip them accordingly, I never have left without tipping except for today because our waitress left early so her coworker took the table and just gave us the check so of course like I’m sure any other person you wanna tip the person who actually served you but unfortunately she left for w.e reason so when we went up to pay we hit no tip on the machine and automatically the racist owner started giving us a talk about how she doesn’t know if we’ve ever went to a restaurant but it’s not the same as fast food and we have to tip.which is absolutely absurd and a crazy way to treat you guests, when you first of all don’t even know if we left cash on the table (which we sometimes do. My boyfriend actually knows the waitress we had today because it’s his cousin and was going to send her her tip through cash app to make sure she was the one who got the tip since she was the one who served us. Which I didn’t think I would need to give an explanation to anyone. Especially knowing that tipping isn’t even mandatory. She than pulls out her pen and says that we can add the tip on the receipt which I said no because our waitress left and she said it’s doesn’t matter you still have to tip it’s a group effort. At this point I don’t even want to tip at all because it’s just insane the way she is talking to us and demanding we tip which I have no problem doing because I am also a tipped employee. Personally I would never demand someone tips me and if I did I would never speak to someone so rudely like she did to us. She acted like we were caveman that have never stepped into a restaurant before knowing we go there many times a month. I bet if we were white she would never even have the courage to ask why they are hitting no tip. NEVER COMING HERE AGAIN!!"

"tl;dr: awesome spot, reasonably-priced, delicious food, great service. wonderful neighborhood gem!we were debating btw this place and another spot, but this place ultimately won because i got drawn in by one thing and one thing only: the steak frites. the place was cozy and romantic, with a few tabled already occupied. they're currently offering an inflation buster prix-fix menu, for 1 app and 2 mains for $60 and that's what we went with. we got the following to try:-BBQ ranch chicken nachos: huge portion! juicy chicken breast strips, pico de gallo, ranch, bbq sauce, and melty cheese on crunchy tortilla chips. the pico had a nice tang to it, it wasn't your typical lime juice but i can't seem to put a finger on it. but really good! i do think it's better to cut the chicken into cubes than strips tho, for better chicken-to-nacho distribution ratio.-steak frites: comes perfectly cooked as requested (medium rare), served with bearnaise, fries, and garlic aioli. the steak was thick, meaty, and tender. the bearnaise sauce was awesome. we loved the garlic aioli and it paired well with the crispy fries. HIGHLY recommend this one!-brick chicken: seared, deboned half chicken (except the drumette, for presentation), served with baby potatoes, and mushroom/spinach in a marsala wine sauce. the chicken was nicely seared and juicy (yes, even the chicken breast), but a tad too salty for my taste. the marsala wine sauce was rich and creamy, but it does get a little heavy after a few bites.-lemon sugar crepe: light, tangy, refreshing.i also tried a cocktail but can't seem to remember the name of it for the life of me. i believe it was gin-based, with some kind of citrus. it was really tasty and well-balanced too. service was awesome, food was delicious, huge portions (we had leftovers), and just a really wonderful neighborhood gem. would love to stop in again if we're in the area!"
