"quite honWe went to Vivere to meet a friend after the ballet. Service was slow and poor. Waiter seemed forgetful. After waiting quite some time for our meal we were told they forgot to put in our order. Two of us ordered the seafood pasta for $29. We got a nice plate of pasta but only 1 scallop, 2 squid rings and 2 shrimp....maybe worth a total of $1.50 of seafood. Far below our expectations of a seafood pasta based on the description on the menu. Our friend ordered an expensive glass of wine which was fine but the subsequent 2 orders of the same wine was overcharged by 20%. We were celebrating a birthday and they brought out a dessert with a candle for us to share. We thought it was complimentary but upon looking at the receipt the next day discovered we were charged a hefty price for something we didn't ask for and quite honestly didn't need. While the visit with our friend was wonderful this dining experience was not. We do not intend to revisit. The only good thing was the Happy Hour Prosecco with the offer of free pizza."

I have always enjoyed their pheasant-filled pasta, and my most recent visit lived up to my expectations.

I had an incredible time at this restaurant. You have to try the risotto - it's a must! The service was impeccable.

Everything was very nice, but the portions were small. The menu decriptions gave the impression there would be side dishes but there really weren’t. We were disappointed with that. We ended up ordering dessert and asking for more bread after the meal

Attended before a concert and enjoyed the pre fixe. A nice green salad started the meal. Entree was a well sauced halibut with greens. Dessert was a generoua serving of lemon sorbet. We enjoyed. Ice bottle of Italian wine and ended dinner with coffee. A very nice experience

This restaurant has styling like I have never seen before and it was very nice. All of the food was really good. The Gnocchi appetizer was incredible. When your waiter says that a dish is a bit spicy, take note: the tagliorini was a bit too spicy for us to fully enjoy. Great deserts. View menu

Vivere was bustling and high volume. It had an old timey vibe, which was not what I expected from the photos online. I had hoped for a more updated restaurant. The food was traditional and not particularly interesting. We still had a pleasant evening. It caters to the early eating crowd.... our reservation was for 6:30 which is early for us and the volume went down after 7:30! We were the last diners to leave .... talking a lot.

I took my partner out for a romantic date and found this restaurant on Google. Even though I struggled with pronouncing some items on the menu, I thought it must be high-end. The portions were not large, but the food was extremely tasty. Our waiter was attentive in keeping our water glasses full, and the waitress was very informed about the menu. If you are looking for a top-quality dining experience, Vivere is the spot to visit. Just be ready for the high prices! And don't forget to leave a generous tip.

"Tempesta is arguably one of the best sandwich shops in the city. They make a lot of their meats in house and use high quality ingredients so you know you’re getting the good stuff. Not only can you get a great sandwich, you can purchase most of their meats to go as well as other small artisanal grocery items. I have tried almost every sandwich they have on the menu but my top two choices would be the #1 The Dante and the #2 Yo! Vincenzo! The Dante is their version of a classic Italian sandwich but a bit on the spicier side. The Yo Vincenzo is a chicken parm and I personally think it’s the best chicken parm sandwich in the city. The chicken is perfectly crispy, and they use just the right amount of sauce where it doesn’t get soggy. Both of these sandwiches come on their fresh baguette which helps set them apart from other sandwich spots in Chicago just because of how good it is. The B Franklin is also a great option, and if you’re starving get the Wagyu Pastrami but be warned it is a very heavy sandwich because of that Wagyu. The last pro tip I’ll add in here is order your sandwich ahead of time if you’re doing takeout. This is a very popular spot and is always busy during the lunch rush so if you wait to order until you arrive you may need to wait for 10-15 minutes. That should speak to how good this place is because it’s in such high demand, so if you’re in Chicago make sure you stop in!"
