"First time and probably last. Like others have said, wanted to like this place, but fell short. Owner or manager gave a nice greeting but didn't give us much attention after that (perhaps if we had ordered wine? . Waittress kept disappearing and kitchenwas slow. Drunken mussels were decent, Ceasars salad was very fishy tasting and had to be sent back to change out to differentdressing. I've had this salad made tableside at an upscale restaurant with fresh anchovies, it isn't that I'm turned off by aflavor of anchovies in my salad. This tasted like old fish. New York strip was small, thin and overcooked (maybe rested toolong but tender and had nice flavor. Truffle fries were good but a bit salty. Veggies were cooked nicely and had good flavor aswell. Overall, the experience was disappointing. The restaurant was so cold, it would help to maybe just turn up heat a bit. Thewaitress would make some efforts and accommodate but only when we saw her. The owner or manager was just not there for us atall...very attentive to another table or two, just not us. If we had wanted to suggest any tweaks, he wasn't interested."

We went for the 1st time for our 40th anniversary. They have great food very nice and accommodating staff. We'd go back but it is a bit higher price point. So it will be a special occasion place.

I live close by but this was my first visit to Zin Gastropub. What was I waiting for? The food service were great. Despite being on busy Rand Road there was a definite neighborhood ambiance. A special shout out to Joanna our waitress.

Dietary restrictions: One of our table members needs nut free food: and she did well Kid-friendliness: Our 3 year old like the food and the ambiance too. Remaekable wine selection and wine explanation. Wheelchair accessibility: Excellent even floor wheelchair accessability. Price per person: $50–100 View menu

We recently moved from Chicago and were delighted to discover Zin. My husband was happy to see a small line on Saturday evening a sure sign of a good meal in his opinion. I was happy to see the thoughtful wine list, local beers on tap and a small menu offarm to table dishes. The kitchen was a tad slow, but everybody was so friendly and everything we had was delicious. I?m happyto recommend the bacon wrapped dates, lamb meatballs and tuna steak, and we?ll be back to try everything else. What a gem.

Zin GastroPub is a gem! I'm forever grateful to our friends that introduced us to this wonderful spot as we never could have imagined food and wine this good in Lake Zurich!!! Something for everyone from a burger and a beer at the bar to a delightful 4 course meal with perfect wine pairings (ask Ken for his excellent suggestions). We try to go as often as possible and the food and wine never disappoint...not to be missed for anyone in the Northwest suburbs and totally worth the drive or Uber ride from further away. Vegetarian options: As a pescatarian, I always appreciate the fish specials at Zin. Vegetarian options are plentiful and the chef will happily adjust menu items as well.

"I want to give this place five stars, but I can't. we start with the drinks. I understand they have to make a profit on the alcohol sale. if they charge $12 for an old fashion, then it must look like a $12 old fashion and not a clobier smoothie with maraschino crunch. we order our appetizers, the calamari appetizer was good, but it took one for our half-shells to utter it on our table. I had to remind our waiter of them and then they showed up. the oysters tasted great, but the coworker who shook them did not prepare the oysters completely. we had to solve the oysters from the actual shell itself. in this time our drinks are almost finished, the waiter won't pay attention and goes to his next table. first I thought maybe it's because they're busy and short-time workers. then I watch him serve another table sitting after us, they ordered appetizers and a few cocktails. their drinks were refilled on the halfway mark. the waiter goes back to us and doesn't even check us out. I'm really tired of letting this film and I hope it's a new waiter. we go on to the main course, two lobster rolls and some fried. I had my fair share of lobster rolls, honestly I had never had a gland until this place. the lobster meat was kind of dry and some of the bits were actually hard and unusable. When we finished the waiter, we asked if we wanted a drink. we were politely rejected and asked for our scary. this place has all the components of a large restaurant, but they do not have the components at the right place."
