"I’m always tagging along with girlfriend and her family to go to places to eat in philly. They told me that this has been a place they went to since they moved to America. It’s a very nice German restaurant/pub. I have never tried German food before but am always down to try something new and I know they have good taste in food. We were seated an order some beers. The beers were very food and I’m pretty sure they brew their own beer. We order some two appetizers which were the shrimp cocktail and the stuffed mushroom. The stuffed mushroom was amazing. Highly recommend ordering it! (It may or may not look appetizing but it’s really good) For the main course we all got the mushroom schnitzel which comes with two sides. To put things into prospective on how good it was my plate was empty. I was stuffed and ready to go home. But my girlfriend order the apple stratal for dessert and there was no way I wasn’t going to not try it. Needless to say, since we only order one we were fighting over the dessert and trying to finish it before the other could get another spoonful. I understand now why they always go out their way for years to come here and I’m happy to leave a good review"

Very good food, had the pork sandwich had just a bit of fat. Drink was awful. Service was ok. Not the best. Casual dining, lots of German choices. Would recommend but hours are very limited.

This restaurant offers authentic German cuisine, including delicious goulash soup, hearty carving, red cabbage, German potato salad, and a great selection of beers. They provide free parking, the staff is very friendly, and the prices are affordable. It's conveniently located just around the corner from Rhawn and Oxford. We will definitely be returning! Amazing atmosphere! It was my first time here yesterday since the remodel of the bathrooms. Love the aesthetic, and everything is hands free. They have very delectable dishes. The bacon wrapped pierogis are to die for! I could have eaten a whole app dish of them myself! Very kind wait staff, who are amazingly friendly and attentive. Amazing food that is diverse and mouth watering. Huge portions, so you'll always have good food for lunch the next day. 5/5 EASILY!!!

This is a solid German restaurant that serves many of the classic dishes you’d expect. The menu features a variety of options, and the food is decent with generous portion sizes. The prices are reasonable for the value you receive. The service is generally good, though it can be a bit slow at times; I had to request my server’s attention because she was "on break." They offer a wide range of German beers, which is a nice touch. There’s always ample parking available. Just be aware that the hours can vary, so it’s best to call ahead. The decor could use an update, as it feels a bit dated.

"We each started with a slice, which arrived quickly and hot—just how it should be. After our first bites, we exchanged approving nods. Unlike many other pizza places in Philadelphia and its suburbs that tend to overdo the cheese, leading to it sliding off with a single bite, that isn’t the case at Bruno's! Another highlight is the pizza sauce—it’s robust, sweet, and hints at herbs and spices, just as good pizza sauce should be. Overall, the pizza strikes the perfect balance of cheese, sauce, and a crust that’s both crispy and chewy—truly pizza perfection. Next, we tried their cheesesteak with American cheese and onions. They use fresh rolls that are soft yet remarkably hold all the meat and cheese together, making for a fantastic cheesesteak. What sets Bruno's cheesesteak apart is that they season their meat, offering a flavor profile that’s much richer than the typical, dry meat and cheese you find at many other places. The combination of the seasoned meat, onions, and cheese in that soft roll makes this one of the best cheesesteaks I’ve ever had in Philadelphia. I’ve been to all the popular spots: Steve's Prince of Steaks, Geno's, Pat's, Jim's on South St., and Dalessandro's Steaks, and I can confidently say you need to try a cheesesteak from Bruno's to understand what I mean. To finish our meal, we ordered chicken wings. They are breaded and fried in the style that many of us Philadelphians grew up enjoying from local seafood places and pizzerias. The wings were cooked perfectly, and that first bite into the crispy breading had me hooked. I read some reviews claiming the chicken was undercooked, but I would have to disagree. It’s possible for properly cooked chicken to look red or even bleed at the thigh bone due to pigments from the bone marrow seeping through the thin bones of these young birds, causing a slight tint. I recommend enjoying a slice while waiting for your pizza to be ready. If you’re in the area, this is the place to visit! Pro tip: reheat your pizza on the stove to regain that fresh-from-the-oven taste and texture. Avoid microwaving your leftovers—don’t be an amateur!"
