"Started at the bar wanting to look at menus, and to see how long the wait was for outside seating. Immediately asked by the bartender if we wanted to eat at the bar. Said no, and asked for two Labatt's bottles, which were displayed along with other bottles at the back of the bar, although only the top of the bottle was barely visible. He stated that they didn't have that, and offered another beer on tap. When asked what that was, he said it was the closest to Labatt's that they had, but did not offer a tasting, and walked away. We ordered nothing, and began to peruse the menus. Similar to The Keg, with slightly lower steak prices. Another bartender happened by, and asked if we wanted anything. Repeated our request for Labatt's- she opened a cooler loaded with them. Distinct impression the previous bartender only wanted to serve food and be overtipped as if he was a server. Large bar with plenty of open stools, and we eventually did ask for a table and were seated within less than 10 minutes, so...he pretty much was one of the two bad impressions I had the entire trip. Neverless, he had no issue presenting us with a $32 CAD bill for 4 bottles of Labatt's, that he didn't serve. We asked the host station about outside seating and were told that was a separate station, and we would not be given a buzzer, and they would not come looking for you at the bar when your table was ready. Again, suspect information, given the other reviews. We were seated quickly inside, where a pleasant but harried server took our appetizer order. My husband ordered the Lobster Poutine, which arrived via other servers (hate that practice) without any lobster. By the time we we revisited by our original server, despite repeated attempts to flag her or anyone else down, he had eaten part of it out of hunger. She went back to confirm with the kitchen that they indeed made the error, and let us know that she had confirmed we weren't lying. She did offer to take it of the bill, but in the end still charged us $10 CAD for the basic poutine he received in error. The steaks were okay, but unremarkable, certainly for the price. All in all, it is one of those establishments that you really want so hard to like, but in the end falls flat. Super crowded, even at an early hour, so maybe we were alone in our poor experience, but I sincerely doubt it."

If you like ribs, well this is the right place to be. I tried plenty of restaurants that are specialized in ribs, and I can say that Baton Rouge is one of

I recently visited a Baton Rouge location for the first time and I often go back to it. On this visit, I ordered my usual dish, which is the ribs with an all.

My family has been dining at this steakhouse for years and it has always been our favorite. We have visited all three locations on Sainte Catherine, De La Montagne, and Decarie.

We just stopped in walking down the street and got a booth near the bar. Drinks were fast but the server took a while before coming back to get our order. Food seemed to come out rather quickly and it was tasty. Great meal, great atmosphere.

Good restaurant very well located and allows you to have an eye on the street entertainment on the terrace. Very often shows in front. It is of good quality and the staff are friendly. The only downside is that the prices seem a bit expensive to me. But very good address

Lobster salad at $ 27 well garnished with lobster but the salad was not fresh: fanned mesclun, rusty salad and extremely rare strawberries whose quality was questionable. The quality of the salad was not worth the price. The dressing was good. Very expensive rosé wine. Average service I waited 15 minutes for service and yet I was sitting at the bar with two waiters who seemed very busy doing whatever ... except serving customers. View menu

My husband and I dropped in for lunch. This is a large restaurant with a patio. We order the lobster sandwich with sweet potato fries for $23. It was $22 but we asked for sweet potato fries and paid an extra $1. The waiter asked if I wanted a salad and I thought it came with the meal but it was $5 extra. How the sandwich was delicious and the sweet potato fries were the Best I ever had. They were nice and big and crispy. The waiter was friendly, service was quick and food was delicious. I highly recommend this place.

my boyfriend and I came to this specific Baton Rouge as I had always had great food and great service. Tonight I was extremely dissapointed. We were seated by the hostess and after approximately 10-15 minutes I had to get up and ask if a waiter/waitress knew we were here as we werent even offered water yet. Afterwards we were greeted by a waitress who seemed somewhat short with us although she did thank us for our patience. When she came to give ys the utensils for our ribs she advised us we would have another waiter for the night named Stephane. After waiting another 15 minutes for just the appetizer we were served our ribs while we still had our calamari at the table. Stephane did come to...

"Affable, knowledgable staff takes very pleasant care of you in this one of a kind location. Food is creative, but elegantly simple, and the wine list covers every contingency. The space celebrates both modern Montreal's sophistication and the famous inn's centuries of history which ooze out of the stone walls. Eating as a couple, we shared two starters (chunks of the cauliflower heads that had been roasting above rotisserie game hens) and a salmon tartar taken a subtle wasabi and mango direction. The provided bread board included half of a classic baguette and some delightfully chewy herb bread. We opted to share the for two special prime rib. Couldn't have made a better choice. The cut, intact on the bone, was brought to the table for a quick introduction before it was carved up for serving. The meat had been aged for eight days and was simply oustanding. Neither of us had ever had a prime rib of that quality, and the aging process threaded the needle perfectly aging another hour might have tipped the flavor towards a sour note. Instead, it was complex, tender, and the very definition of medium rare. Paired with a just right Saint Emilion, things couldn't have been better. The accompanying fresh greens in a vinaigrette played a cleansing role, and each of us opened a personal Staub mini cocotte to find a concoction of whipped potatos and gruyere that took care of the savory end of things with a satisfying flourish. Overly fed, we bravely avoided the very tempting dessert menu, but none the less caved and ate the small sweets that stealthily found their way to the table. Be sure to take a moment to wander the restaurant and absorb the contemporary design elements that don't for a moment hide or diminish the ancient beams and stones that are the soul of L'Auberge Saint Gabriel. We will gladly travel a few hundred miles to return to this gem."
