Birch's - Menu

Always enjoyable. Always something new to try, but hard to get away from the favorites. Waygu burger is the only burger I get medium anywhere. Love the creative flatbread. Hard not to order the truffled shrimp casserole every time.

The food is fantastic, the location is ideal, and the staff is wonderful! It's definitely the best restaurant in the western suburbs. Make sure to save some space for dessert! Everyone I know is looking forward to their new, larger location by the lake.

The restaurant was beautiful. A very cozy dining room. The food was excellent and the servers were very nice and helpful. I had the pizza which was fantastic. The only criticism I would have would be that given the size of the dining room, the noise was a bit much when it got busy. There is nothing that can be done about that so I would say the overall experience was a great one.

I was worried when they announced their move, fearing that the neighborhood vibe would disappear. Unfortunately, I was right. The new location is much larger and features an expanded menu, but the food is just mediocre. I preferred the menu at their previous spot. It always seems to be packed, so it’s likely a smart business move for Burt and the team. Now, I'm back on the hunt for a cozy, local restaurant for family dinners.

Terrible service. I have now attempted to eat at Birch's twice and have left both times without eating. The first time I was blatantly ignored by the host because their friends arrived after me and they seated them instead. The second time, we sat on the patio for 25 minutes with just water. When we went in to see if we could sit inside, we were told that they had to seat people who had reservations and then they would come talk to us. We finally left because it was clear that they were never going to check on us, let alone take our order. View menu

This is the the best restaurant BY FAR in the Plymouth/Long Lake area and is one of my favorite spots in the Twin Cities. It is a hidden gem! If you are looking for something more authentic than Green Mill or Jakes and nicer than pub food like Sunshine Factory or Cowboy Jacks, this is just about your only choice in the area. My wife and I have gone about six times in the last two years and have tried a good portion of the menu. We have liked everything! A cozy spot in downtown Long Lake with a small bar, a dozen or so small tables and a few tables outside. We had a 7:30 reservation on a Thursday night and were seated right away. It was only half full and our waitress stopped by promptly to answer questions about the menu. We ordered the lump crab/heirloom tomato/avocado appetizer (quite bland) and decided to share the wedge salad (plenty for two) which was crispy and had large meaty bacon chunks (more like pancetta). I 'm so glad Birch 's showed up in a Yelp search for dinner and drinks last night. It ended up being exactly what we were looking for, with delicious food and fun drinks at reasonable prices. After much deliberation (and six oysters), we decided to get several small plates to share, instead of individual entrees. We started with the wedge salad, which was beautiful and delicious. I was a bit skeptical of the celery at first, but once I cut everything up, it made perfect sense in each bite.
