"Restaurant posted business hours until and takes reservations on openable near that time. After landing from a trip, we made a reservation for two at and where there before that. We were greeted with a “we are closedclosing” statement. We told them we had a reservation, so they sat us. Then, we were told kitchen closes at Really? Not long after they also told us they were closing the bar in case we wanted another round of drinks.I have two of my children working in restaurants, and we are very sensitive to their opinion of customers coming in right before, or just at, closing time. Hence we chose a restaurant we we had good minutes before closing, and were willing to order quickly.In my opinion, that is the restaurant’s management problem. Not the paying customers. If they really want to close and turn off the lights after cleaning up at they should close the doors one hour earlier. Certainly not take reservations just before Or, they at least could post “kitchen closes at bar service stops at etc”The food was “just ok”. For a restaurant of this category, I can only wonder if the food sonso quality was the result of kitchen not very happy?We still left a decent tip, my son wouldn’t have let me do otherwise even if justified... but frankly, this time they did not earn it"

Great spot for a birthday lunch! We love the back booth. Food was delicious. Service was fantastic, right down to a special desert and finding us a lighter for the candle.

Had lunch. Split multiple appetizers. Right size. Deviled eggs ok. Chicken and pickles excellent. Fish app very good. Smoked salmon dip also good. Specialty mixed drinks were excellent. Server very nice and attentive. Will definitely go back.

The fried checken was way loaded with salt and inside was over the top noisy. We could hardly hear each other. We dined very early asked to sit outside and were declined. The entire time we were there there were tables open outside. Very disappointing for the price. We won't return. Too many other options in Avalon
