"The food itself was quite good, closely aligning with a classic British tea but with some interesting twists. I felt quite satisfied with the overall portion sizes. The Sultanas Scone was sweet and had a great texture, served with a lovely lemon curd and cream. The Yorkshire Pudding with Sirloin was flavorful; the steak was excellent, and the pudding was fun and bready. It came with a bit of seasoned mayo, which I personally didn’t enjoy too much. The Smoked Salmon Mousse was pleasant with a great flavor and a nice quantity. My favorite savory dish was the Maine lobster roll, which was a perfect mini version with cucumber bits and just the right amount of mayo — I could easily eat ten of those! The Open Cucumber Sandwich was a standard preparation of a classic, nothing exceptional compared to other teas, but it didn't need to be. The Egg Salad was fine, though I found it a bit too creamy for my taste. For desserts, the Strawberry Cannoncini was small and nice, with flaky pastry, though it could have been a bit moister. It was well-filled. The Alfajores were like delightful little shortbread cookies filled with toffee, very interesting and enjoyable. The Earl Grey Panna Cotta was exceptional, coming with a tasty cookie, some cream, and an intriguing Earl Grey mousse. Overall, at $72, it was a bit pricier than I'd prefer. However, the exceptional service, lovely atmosphere, and good food make it worth a visit at least once."

Don't let the unassuming exterior fool you This is a first-rate hotel The rooms are big and bright.

We had an excellent stay here Our room was small but very clean We did find ourselves bumping into stuff, seriously, the room was tiny.

It's a beautiful venue, the service was excellent, the food was very good, creative, and substantial. We get better food at the Dunbar Tea Room on Cape Cod, but that's not a realistic alternative for most people who come to tea at the BPL.

Cold, uninspiring, and mediocre food. Breads were soggy and everything tasted a bit stale. I cannot believe I paid $90 for this! The service was alright (felt kind of rushed) and the room itself is lovely, but it is absolutely not worth it.

Great tea and the savory selection was delicious! The sweet options were not as appealing. The only major negative was that we got the check after sitting for an hour (we had only been driving our tea for 40 min) and felt pressured to leave. Extremely steep price for being semi-rushed out. Amazing and fun high tea experience. If you like tea and if you like libraries then this is the place for you. Great tea service. I love the high tea. There is an emotional comfort and recharge that comes from a quality tea service. The Courtyard Tea Room delivers and exceeds any expectations.

$72 for a really fantastic experience! The food was actually very impressive. We had two savory plates and one desert. The tea was very high quality (tea connoisseur here), and the food actually tasted like it's actually high quality. We were very impressed. It's a must do at least once during your visit to Boston!

"No soup/sandwich shop compares in terms of price per quality, portion size, and different options in the area. I only started ordering from here about 2 weeks ago and I’ve now had 7 different kinds of soups and 4 different kinds of sandwiches after the first order I started ordering two soups and a sandwich aka a soup to save for later because they’re just that good, every one of them. Price is so very reasonable and depending on which combo you get you can make out with a full sized sandwich and large sized homemade soup for $14.While it’s hard to recommend one thing over another in this circumstance since it’s all been great in their own ways, the Chicken Chowder is something I plan on getting a quart of next time it’s available. The Chicken Barley and Chicken Lemon Rice are ones I plan on getting quarts of in the future as well, and that’s not to discount the Chicken Noodle, Beef and Veg Noodle Stew, French Onion, and the current seasonal Chilled Gazpacha (which I probably wouldn’t have even tried it wasn’t from these guys . It’s all top quality. The Chicken Tarragon sandwich is my favorite in terms of sandwiches although it can’t combo with a soup as of now (please let us! . The best cheap soup combo sandwich is a tossup between the Cilantro Tuna and Ciabatta Sandwich, which are both incredible in their own ways. The only few drawbacks to this place are they don’t have every soup they make every day, are only open until 4PM, and aren’t open on the weekends. That said it’s worth it to plan accordingly for this. I never review anything but this place is worth it it’s the best if you’re a soup and sandwich person like I am."
