"We had the garlic bulb appetizer to start with and she had the stuffed spinach pasta with lemon caper shrimp entree, and I had the mushroom sacchetti. The dishes were really decent but the garlic bulb came short on flavor expectations and the house salad was a little shy of traditional salad makings but the vinaigrette was very tasty. Our server was very attentive. Make sure to get reservations ahead of time.."

This place was amazing, but the service was a bit slow. Will go again if I'm ever in Belfast.

Disappointing meal! Their pizza is lousy and under cooked. The meatballs are tasteless and the entrees aren’t authentic Italian. It’s like eating at the Olive Garden yucky

The first we went there all was good. So we went there a second tie and it was a disaster.. Stale sa!ad, stale bread bothe day old. The main entree felt like microwave reheated. The waitress was wearing high heels running noisily back and forth

Calamari was sliced very thin which is not good for frying, eggplant fries are very good both of the starters came with the same tomato sauce which it didn’t pair well with them. The burger is ok, and the artichoke dip were very cheesy. Staff is nice. View menu

The food and service was good but the restaurant was dirty. We sat at the bar and it hadn't been wiped down from the last people, which wasn't apparent until my sweater stuck to the bar top. While we waited for our food there were a ton of fruit flies around us and all over the bar area.

A fantastic Italian restaurant, reminiscent of those found in major metropolitan areas, is nestled in the heart of inner-city Belfast. The service is outstanding, and the owners and staff are incredibly friendly. Best of all, the food is excellent! I've dined here many times, and I truly believe it's the best around.

"I don't normally post negative reviews. Generally speaking I think a lot of places are trying their best and I want to give them the benefit of the doubt. However, I had such a truly terrible experience at Bell the Cat that I feel compelled to share my experience as a warning to others. Simply put, I ended up paying $80 for a brunch for *two* that wasn't worth $40. The good: The mimosa was good. Was it worth $10? Maybe. The salmon bagel (which I ordered as take out along with brunch) was excellent. Lots of smoked salmon and well worth the $13. The bad: The poached eggs I had with my red flannel hash were rock solid. I might as well have had two hard boiled eggs. The toast was cold, and the fried chicken served with the chicken and waffles was so salty it was inedible. The ugly: Being charged $3 for substituting maple syrup with the chicken and waffles, only to have a bottle of syrup brought with all the condiments. Paying a $1 upcharge for veggies on the salmon bagel. At no point was either charge mentioned by the cashier. I also want to take a moment to call out Bell the Cat's business model. I have no qualms with paying a premium for good service, but Bell the Cat is effectively a sandwich shop with pretensions of being a high-end full service restaurant. By collecting payment first there is zero accountability (aside from angry reviews like this one). Not a single staff person asked me about the quality of the food, and since I did not have an actual server there was no easy way to express my frustration or even find out where to get water (because you have to do that for yourself too). I will not be going back, and I strongly encourage others to spend their money elsewhere too."
