"I suppose if you're willing to pay $13 for a sub-par hamburger, then this review isn't going to mean much to you. On a Sunday afternoon, I went into jams for the first time. I have heard so much hype about it that I wanted to try it for myself. I found it surprisingly dead at that time of day, which is unusual because the parking lot is always filled for this place. I sat at the bar and ordered a soda. what kind of restaurant doesn't have soda on phone? So you get a can of Diet Coke. Later, when I got the bill, I about fell out of my chair when I was charged $2.95 for a can of Diet Coke. Then, I ordered the Jams hamburger with balsamic onions and bacon. It was a good size hamburger, and the bun was good. I asked for pickles and lettuce and tomato on my hamburger. Again, what kind of please that tell it's their hamburgers doesn't have sliced hamburger pickles? As a matter of fact, for $13, they should hand make their own pickles. But I got some sort of food service deli spears. I have to say that the veggie slaw was very good. The hamburger, on the other hand, was very bland. Expected a good amount of the balsamic onions, and I got what probably equated to a tablespoon. The bacon also was subpar. Then, just to top it off, the bartender who was serving me was completely distracted by her friends at the end of the bar and never once returned to see what I needed. There were three managers at the other end of the bar complaining about this and that, which just kind of brought everything into focus for me. This is a trendy restaurant, with exhorbitant prices, for people who have nothing better to do than to spend too much money for mediocre food and drinks."

I had the Midtown Meatloaf and it was stellar. I also ate the Texas Chopped Salad with Salmon a few days later. It was also excellent. A cool vibe and great food.

Food was good, however a bit expensive for a lunch. $15 a person for just sandwiches and water with a side. Great atmosphere, not great service, but not bad service either.

I only review for places that actually have great food. Jams is one of the best lunch stops ever. So good. After I eat I still want the menu so I can try somthing else. Now they are downtown too.

Went to lunch w a vendor rep. Jams has been a staple restaurant in Omaha since it opened. Their have been a lot of ownership changes in the last 5 years. The atmosphere is now modern/trendy for lack of better words. I got the crab cake salad which is phenomenal. Chucks of walnuts, avocado, and Gorgonzola cheese. All their salads are the best in town. I miss the old Jams but I know change is constant so I am slowly embracing the new Jams and going there more often now

"First, the restaurant is super cool. You enter and immediately see the open kitchen and bar below. We were seated with a great view of the working kitchen. It was our anniversary and they presented us with complimentary bubbly and a menu that read Happy Anniversary at the top. Our server was prompt and kind. We ordered apps and our meal at the same time. Apps were a little slow but we don 't mind taking our time. The andouille sausage over grits was good but a bit oversalted. The croquettes were good but somewhat mushy. Overall flavor profile was good. Some time passed after completing our appys and began to notice the kitchen plating dishes and entrees being served to every table except ours. Again, not in a hurry so we weren 't upset. But it became excessive. Large groups seated while we had appetizers were served their entrees. Small tables seated after we finished our appetizers were served. The kitchen can put out food fast, just not ours. So now our apps are expanding in our belly and our excitement about our meals are diminishing. Finally our entrees arrived. My snapper raw. So sad. The gnocchi was ok but again, way over salted. But the flavor profile was so good. This had the ability to be amazing. My husband ordered the wagyu flank steak. It was just not good. He barely ate one piece and left his sides as again they were way way over salted. Our server noticed that we barely ate our meals and spent time asking for feedback. She was very kind and the manager discounted my meal (which I did not want, but appreciate). Anyway, we probably won 't be back. Good presentations. Very good flavor profiles. Failure to deliver overall though due to extremely salty, improper cooking and extraordinary wait times. Hopefully they can improve as some other recent reviews reflect similar feedback."
