"This is the oldest diner in Indy. Prices are great compared to any fast food restaurant. Where else can you get a triple burger with cheese, pickles, onions and tons of bacon for $6? The woman and I had a double, triple, frits, corn nuggets, a medium and a big drink for $20 and change including taxes. I've been there twice and had nothing of bad quality or taste. You have to try the root beer! Do it! You won't regret it. It has a vanilla flavor (I'm not sure it's really vanilla, but it tastes so) that makes it sweet and smooth. Visit Mug-n-Bun, you will not regret it. Please give the sweet servers a good cash tip! I think they take tips through apps, but not sure..."

We enjoyed our selections for lunch and the root beer was super. The staff was friendly and attentive! The bathroom could use a remodeling.

Have not been in 20 yrs, really loved this place then. Service was good but food not near as good as I remembered. Except the root beer, it was great!

Solid local comfort food. Not healthy but certainly tasty with awesomely friendly service. The onion rings are so huge and crispy. The tenderloin seemed to be the chopped/formed variety super tender bite.

Place was really good. Rootbeer was great and so was foot long. Tenderloin was okay, but next time for Burger. Staff very friendly and helpful. Food was coming out pretty fast and great prices on everything View menu

The root beer fins were the perfect afternoon snack. The warm funnel friars had the perfect crabs on the outside and soft on the inside. Then it dipped into the sweet dip sauce made the funnel frits taste even better.

First time to this drive-in. Service was quick friendly! Onion rings served fresh and hot; best battered rings I’ve ever had=delicious! It is not 5 star dining, however, the staff and food are amazing! Will definitely go here again when visiting Indy! Love supporting Local.

I liked the place, had a good atmosphere, friendly workers. It was my first time eating there, I ordered the grilled cheeseburger. It was ok, a little to wet on the inside, slippery. But had a good crunch on the outside. The jalapeno poppers were ok. They were cheddar I believe, but prefer mozzarella cheese. The home made root beer is a whole different story! Loved it! Full of flavor and satisfying! View menu

The house made Root Beer is my favorite item at Mug-N-Bun. The French fries are good. My family enjoyed the huge tenderloin, hand-picked onion rings, grilled cheese and much more. The Root Beer Float and Milkshakes are delicious. We always had good service weather, we used the boarding service or indoors (if it was opened). The Mug N Bun Drive-in has been serving fine dishes on the west side of Indy for over 50 years.

YOU HAVE TO GO HERE! Tiny, old building surrounded by a big parking lot...pull up and turn your lights on to get service. A waitress brings your food on a tray to hook on your window unless you get it to go. Homemade root beer was so good, and the onion rings were great balance of breading and onion. Greasy burgers (in a good way) and fries...our absolute favorite were the shakes!! Peanut butter was a hit and strawberry/vanilla were smooth and delicious!! The waitress was very friendly, food was very affordable. We would definitely come back!!

"Inside, you’ll find seating at tables and the bar, along with a pleasant patio area that overlooks the sidewalk. They also have a self-serve water station in the front. Unfortunately, the cleanliness of the place left much to be desired. I chose to sit at the bar, and it appeared to have not been wiped down all day. The floor was quite dirty as well. The staff did what was necessary, but seemed to lack enthusiasm. You can customize your own bowl or select one of their signature options. Feeling adventurous, I decided to create my own bowl. Regardless of your choice, you start with a base. I opted for traditional sushi rice over brown rice and spring mix salad. Next, I had to select a protein. The size of your bowl determines how many scoops you receive. The regular size allows for two scoops, so I chose one scoop of spicy tuna and one of marinated salmon, although options like octopus, tofu, and shrimp are also available. After that, you can add various toppings and sauces. I have to admit, my bowl was quite tasty and packed with protein. The atmosphere was relaxed, with music playing softly in the background. Unlike the other location I've visited, this one doesn't offer shaved ice, just poke. Overall, I found this place to be just average compared to other locations I've tried, which is why I’m giving it a 3-star rating. The poke was decent, but everything else felt pretty standard at best."
