"We always choose The Open Hearth, whether it's a special occasion or we just want to enjoy some delicious food. Last night, we had dinner with our friends and had everything from steak and lobster to the delicious French dip. The salads are also delicious, whether it's the house salad or the blue cheese wedge. My friend and I tried the fried jumbo shrimp yesterday evening and they were amazing! My husband had the chicken kabobs and our friend had the grilled fish, both of which were also delicious. Our waitress, whose name I can't remember but she was from Easley, had some great stories to tell. We never wanted for anything because she was on top of everything. We are always greeted by Paula and Jimmy, who always have a smile on their faces and we look forward to seeing them. If you have never eaten at The Open Hearth in Taylors, I highly recommend giving it a try. You won't regret it, it's our favorite place to eat. I can't wait to try the fried chicken next time, I've heard it's amazing!"

The restaurant is in need of updating. A party of 12 in a private dining room had to wait 2 hours for their main entrees. The waitresses did not work well together and even admitted to it. The steaks and potatoes were lukewarm at best. The scallops were overcooked and full of grit. Our waitress mentioned that the owners are retiring, which we believe is long overdue.

I have two favorite restaurants in Greenville, and The Open Hearth is one of them. It is my all-time favorite steak place. I have never had a bad steak there. On January 5th, 2018, I had the best fillet dinner at The Open Hearth. It was perfectly cooked. I love my steak medium rare "Pittsburgh" style, and it can be difficult to get it just right, but they nailed it. The Open Hearth is always a great place to dine at. I highly recommend it. View menu

Now to what you really want to know...yes, eating is phenomenal, absolutely drool worthy. we both chose the kansas city steaks and had no regret. let me tell them something..They ned their sweet potato in their lives, perfectly prepared and they get to add their supplements to their own personal taste. kudos open hearth for a wonderful night of perfection. they are absolutely positiw all 5 and the hour drive worth. we can't wait to come back!
