"The food here is absolutely delicious, especially considering the incredibly reasonable prices. I was able to get crawfish etouffee, boudin balls, and a drink for $25, and it all came out very very quickly. The service staff was very polite and attentive, and I almost got their crawfish considering how insanely affordable it was! If you're in the area, and are looking for some good food, absolutely try this place. Vegetarian options: This place does not have good options for vegetarians. It does have great options for pescatarians, however. Dietary restrictions: This is very much Cajun style food. As such, there is seafood and pork everywhere and there is no way to guarantee that any of it is even remotely kosher or halal. Parking: Weather is parking, the parking lot looks a little small and possibly crammed so be aware that if they are at a busy time, you might not find a spot. Kid-friendliness: Kids meals are present as are high chairs. This is very much a place that wants you to bring your family. Wheelchair accessibility: The entrance to flush with the exterior, so it wheelchair should be perfectly fine accessing the restaurant. I didn't access the restrooms, so I can't rightly say how accessible those are."

Everyone enjoyed the seafood gumbo, I ordered the red beans and rice, presentation was nice, just lacked flavor. I’d give this place another try.

This restaurant is fantastic! It's the best étouffée I've found in Alexandria. I can't wait to return. As for wheelchair accessibility, there are ADA-compliant stalls at the front.

I had a fantastic lunch! I highly recommend trying the Cajun Nachos paired with their homemade queso. I also enjoyed the Catfish bites, which came with their homemade tartar sauce. The staff was friendly, and the service was quick too. View menu

Look, it's a dive but it's perfect if that's what you want. A local place serving local food. Highly recommend. I had the half shrimp half shrimp etouffee and half fried shrimp. Very Cajun with a roux based sauce. Wife had the shrimp salad, a large portion fresh makings.

Always a great experience here, and the food is never less than fantastic. We often try anything new on menu and are never disappointed. Service can't be beat either. Kid-friendliness: Often see families here, and all are always welcome and accommodated. But also perfect for couples, dates and grandparents!

Absolutely terrible food. It was excessively spicy, to the point where it was inedible. I regrettably spent $100 on a meal that I couldn't enjoy. I should have heeded the warnings from others who mentioned how terrible this place is. The batter on the tomatoes was undercooked as well. I won’t be coming back. View menu

Rosie Jo’s is absolutely fantastic!! The crawfish are spicy, cooked perfectly, and delicious. You can taste the smoke in the smoked sausage, obviously home made. Fried duck was juicy and delicious. Boudin one point!!! And the étouffée was just delicious. I absolutely love this place and the staff were friendly and made us feel at home.

We saw this restaurant featured on IG and wanted to try it out. The menu choices all looked really good. We were there for a quick lunch before shopping. We asked our waitress what was her favorite lunch item and she quickly said the Cajun Philly. It was a hit! We also had the fried mushrooms as an appetizer and they were really good! Try it and you won’t be disappointed! Reasonable priced and a lot of food!

"This place really helped me adjust. I later learned that people gravitate towards certain bars, and I found my favorites, especially those with live music like Birchmere, Black Cat, 9:30 Club, Lincoln, Capital One Arena, and even the now-closed O'Shaughnessy's and Rock & Roll Hotel. One of my most memorable experiences was running into Rory Sheridan on one of my first visits. He was launching his DC music campaign back then and was part of Loud Boyz. We chatted a few times, and I even caught up with some old classmates. Another highlight was when I heard about a “reunion” night before Thanksgiving, and I decided to crash it. There were moments where people could be unkind or I felt out of place, but I was given some guidance on where I would fit in better, without the unnecessary drama. Being in Old Town, I was familiar with nearby schools like West Potomac, Mount Vernon, and Bishop Ireton. During my visits, I would often take an Alexandria cab or use Metro Access, being discreet about my disability since I felt embarrassed at times. Being a regular meant navigating the tourist scene, and there were people who seemed territorial about the place, but I ended up doing quite well when I sold my house. Good times continued with events like watching RG3 play for the Redskins or meetups organized by JT. I enjoyed New Year’s celebrations and weekend outings. I also frequented other establishments like Flying Fish before it closed, and O'Shaughnessy's before I decided to stop drinking. This is a sports bar located near a bicycle shop, close to the Ben & Jerry's I used to work at, along with many other walkable bars for bar hopping, like Union Street Pub and Fish Market. It can be a great place to have fun, but with the good comes some downsides. Overall, I felt well-hosted and respected here, despite some things I was not initially aware of or didn’t want to uncover."
