"I went to this restaurant for brunch alone, unsure if the outdoor area was open on a cold, snowy morning. I sat at the bar and was told I could bring my pup inside because he is a service dog. I hadn't brought his service dog vest, but I was happy it wasn't necessary. I ordered steak and eggs with a side of sausages for my dog, which we both enjoyed. The food was hearty and traditional for brunch. The server was friendly and quick with my order. The atmosphere was welcoming and cozy. I highly recommend this place for brunch in Chicago. Street parking may be busy, but there is plenty of parking a few blocks away. It's definitely worth a visit."

Had burger with fries. Was quite big, and very good. Cooked properly (medium rare) a lot of flavor. Only negative was 18 tip is automatically added with all checks. I went with that, although I usually tip 20-25 . View menu

I went to Sunny Side Up for brunch with a friend. There was no wait to be seated, but keep in mind that everyone in your party needs to be present before you can be seated. The menu offers a few gluten-free choices. I decided to try the gluten-free pancakes, but found them to be a bit too doughy, probably because they were undercooked. The prices were reasonable considering the portion sizes.

My husband visit Sunnyside Up every year during the holidays. It has been our favorite quaint breakfast spot for years. Hence, I am disappointed by their service on Tuesday, December 26, 2024. The presentation of the egg whites omlette dish, the food temperature, the taste and the soft toast were problematic. The smoked salmon was unrecognizable, and the egg whites was a thick pancake-like blob. The ingredients seemed to have been thrown together. When i hesitated and said i couldn't eat it, the response was that it was a popular dish. Fortunately, I was invited to select another item and I was not charged.

"Tempesta is arguably one of the best sandwich shops in the city. They make a lot of their meats in house and use high quality ingredients so you know you’re getting the good stuff. Not only can you get a great sandwich, you can purchase most of their meats to go as well as other small artisanal grocery items. I have tried almost every sandwich they have on the menu but my top two choices would be the #1 The Dante and the #2 Yo! Vincenzo! The Dante is their version of a classic Italian sandwich but a bit on the spicier side. The Yo Vincenzo is a chicken parm and I personally think it’s the best chicken parm sandwich in the city. The chicken is perfectly crispy, and they use just the right amount of sauce where it doesn’t get soggy. Both of these sandwiches come on their fresh baguette which helps set them apart from other sandwich spots in Chicago just because of how good it is. The B Franklin is also a great option, and if you’re starving get the Wagyu Pastrami but be warned it is a very heavy sandwich because of that Wagyu. The last pro tip I’ll add in here is order your sandwich ahead of time if you’re doing takeout. This is a very popular spot and is always busy during the lunch rush so if you wait to order until you arrive you may need to wait for 10-15 minutes. That should speak to how good this place is because it’s in such high demand, so if you’re in Chicago make sure you stop in!"
