"Nice place to eat in southern style. I had the Thursday lunch special, that was $8 and change. It was great with meat leaf potatoes and beet green as my sides. I had a little potatoes and gravy with every bite of meat, just as I like it and boy it was good. The sweet tea was good and not excessively sweetened. The desert was hot apple cake, which was just a tart and vanilla ice cream. I have nothing bad to say about this place. They do not take credit cards, but an ATM is on site and personal checks with ID are excluded, but this can only be for locals. Oh, and the service was great and so friendly."

Friendly staff, the fried chicken takes 20 minutes because they make it right then and there. The lasagna was tasty for the price, and given it was the daily special it came put warm and quick.

I recently visited with two friends. It was my first time and the place is very very nice and very clean. Everything is homemade. Highly recommend this place. Oh yes, and they make homemade pies!

Was seated by a hostess 2 other people walking around. The place was completely empty she said our server will be right with you 10 minutes later we just walked out I guess good service is not a part of their mission statement View menu

We enjoyed a quiet late lunch at Sunset on Friday afternoon. The service was great! The food was good. It is a simple menu with fresh specialties. Unfortunately, we were too late in the afternoon to get their fresh berry cakes. Make sure to bring cash or a card.

Our family visited here twice ! It is friendly, comfortable and dependable food, prepared in a simple fashion. I had the cold plate and loved everything on it, including the delicious cole slaw! Based on the number of people there each time we go, it is the place to be in Franklin!

Sunset is a staple of this community. It’s our favorite stop for breakfast, as well as for a Saturday afternoon lunch burger. Friendly folks and low prices. If you’re trying it for the first time, you have to try a slice of pie. They’re famous for the beautiful mountainous meringue on top. One of our favorite spots. View menu

Beautiful small place near a neighborhood away from the city. Lunch and dinner you can get a good meat and two or just a simple hamburger. The second time I have eaten here and the food is good, it is Tuesday night and all the others around me had the turkey dressing on two sides and it really looked like a good dish of food. If you are looking for a good solid home cooking type food, this is a place for you. Only cash and I think there's a cash machine on site.

The Sunset is good solid comfort food and is well-priced. Breakfast is the typical fare of bacon and eggs, pancakes, grits and homemade biscuits. Lunch is good for a bowl of hearty soup and a hefty deli sandwich. The restaurant is spotless and cheerful with a wait staff that is very pleasant and accommodating. Some solid choices are offered but they would not be my first choice. The patrons are regulars; most come by to eat a heart dinner of meat, vegetables, biscuits and gravy and a nice slice of home made pie for dessert.
