"had the best eating experience here yesterday. started with the crab special and a bottle of reisling. I should note that they serve only wine and beer, no cocktails. then we ordered the salatcomonies, followed by an ahi tuna with Zilantro sauce, a salmon- and crab meat special, the filet meeresfrench trio garnel and lumpenkrab with beard and the chicken normandie. single. that was amazing. the side for the escape are picked up by the cook so our table ended with a few orders of kartoffeln and veggie succotash, speck packed spagel. we finished the meal with some very strong and tasty cappuccino and Irish cream, and a French vanille crème brûlée and three times chocolate cake with a skyberry drizzle. our server was fantastic and said she had worked there for about 5 years. To be honest, the entire staff was fabulous. how coordinated and efficient they were together all night was so refreshing. the manager to the host and bus driver were all so friendly and professional. the atmosphere of the restaurant was very picturesque, beautiful its renovated Victorian house with a beautiful garden from the back and a high end without feeling pretentious. there were many children sitting in the room that we had like several children at each table next to our own, which was unusual in view of the menu price points, but hey. treat yourself. if they have not been before me, I highly recommend a reservation a few days in advance. they turned to several groups at the door because they were all booked for the night, only in the few minutes we waited for our table to be ready."

The collington is such a cute find. They have whimsical decor, lots of art and cozy seating. Their menu is so yummy. They even have a gluten free one. Always delicious. Must get the coconut pie. It's amazing.

This was absolutely our favorite restaurant in the two weeks we spent in the area. From the crab soup to the steak and seafood pasta, and especially the peach and blueberry crisp! Everything was perfectly cooked and presented. Service was impeccable and we would absolutely return!

so exciting to find such a place in a crowded beach area in summer. we were a little early for our reservation, so the hostess assured that we get drinks in our hands to wait. once sitting, greeted by a friendly and welcoming amanda. we enjoyed two specials and two regular menu items along with a well curated weinlist. the crab soup was a delicious starter! we're coming back!

Great location. Some internet sources say they have cocktails, not. Perfectly cooked fried stuff (scallops, coconut shrimp, etc. , tiny scallops wrapped in bacon, leaden garlic mashed potatoes, well cooked green beans. Not the consistency we hoped for but I'd recommend it if you go in with the right expectations. View menu

We walked in on a Friday night, parking lot was packed. My husband said “we may not be able to get in”. Hostess greeted us with a smile, asking if we had a reservation. I said “unfortunately not” She said, well, it must be your lucky night, I have just the table for you. She sat us right away at the cutest table. So right off we were impressed. I hate I didn’t catch her name. The food was amazing, from the she crab bisque, salad, halibut special and filet special. We were too full for dessert but my guess is that it would have been amazing too. Can’t beat the bottle prices on the wine and the service was top notch. Whitney was our waitress and we loved having her. Fun to to talk to and she h...

"I never actually ate here, but let me tell you, that was probably for the best. My experience with Kill Devil Grill started with me trying to order food online. Silly me, I thought that would be a straightforward process. Spoiler alert: it wasn’t. After fighting with their broken online system, I decided to give them a call. You know, like people used to do in the dark ages before the internet. I was on hold for a while, but hey, I figured they were busy whipping up some delicious food. How naive of me. When I finally got through to the host, I explained my situation, expecting at least a smidge of empathy or, I don’t know, a willingness to help. Instead, I was hit with a line that’s going to be etched in my memory forever: The kitchen said no. This was after they asked, how many things are you going to order? Really? No. Just... no. No explanation, no apology, no attempt to even pretend like they cared. Apparently, asking to place an order over the phone was too much for them to handle. I mean, how dare I want to give them money in exchange for food? The nerve! Look, I’ve dealt with bad service before, but this was a whole new level of ridiculous. The fact that they couldn’t even be bothered to take an order says everything you need to know about this place. Customer service? What’s that? The people running this joint clearly have no clue. Honestly, I’m relieved I didn’t actually get to try their food. If their service is this bad, I can only imagine what the kitchen is like. Maybe the kitchen didn’t say no —maybe it was trying to warn me. In any case, I’ve taken the hint. I won’t be bothering Kill Devil Grill with my pesky orders again. If you value your time, money, or basic human decency, do yourself a favor and stay far, far away from this place."
