"We ate at the 1555 2nd Avenue location. We had an early (5:30'ish reservation so we could make a 7:30 show on Broadway. It was a little tricky to find; we only saw a small A-frame sidwalk sign. We were seated promptly; the staff was very friendly and professional. We enjoyed the calamari, the cavatelli with the mushroom ragu (delicious! , the rigatoni with the Sunday Sauce (the reason we chose this restaurant and the Chicken Parmigiana. We enjoyed a fried dough dessert (like donut holes with chocolate sauce which was not on the menu but was highly recommended by our server. We enjoyed a leisurey but attentive service; when we asked for our check and mentioned the show, our server delivered the check and processed the payment promptly even though the restaurant had gotten busier. I highly recommend this restaurant."

Unforgetable moment in this wonderful place: tasty cuisine, perfect wine (cabernet is excellent) and nice service. Special bonus for interior design View menu

The option to build your own pasta was interesting, so we tried tagliatelle with Sunday sauce, chicken Bolognese, marinara, and the preset squid ink pasta with clams. Sadly, everything lacked flavor. To make matters worse, our entrees took an unusually long time to arrive.

We went to the restaurant during the San Gennaro festival to celebrate my husband's birthday. The menu was limited due to the festival so the selections weren't as great as usual. We started with the Cesar salad which was just ok. For drinks we each had red sangria. Delicious! For our entrees I had the cavatelli with broken meatballs and my husband had the rigatoni also with the broken meatballs. The homemade pasta and sauce were excellent. I will definitely go back but at a less busy time. View menu

I also really enjoyed a fun drink concept where they provide you with a card to select your liquor and flavor profile for your drink. While most bars usually just ask you a series of questions, I appreciated having a visual aid. The staff was friendly, and the ambiance was lovely. The restaurant is spacious, with outdoor dining available as well. Thank you for a great experience, Aunt Jake's! One more interesting point: have you ever wondered why it's called Aunt Jake's? The founders chose this name to represent a fictional character, Aunt Jake, who doesn’t imply or suggest any specific gender. Pretty cool, right?

AMAZING HOMEMADE PASTA with your choice of spaghetti and sauce, and not to mention the Aunt Jake Cocktail... everything was perfect food-wise, except for the fact that we were kept being interrupted literally every 15 minutes by the waitresses asking us how we are doing and if we need anything else, we get that they are just trying to do their job but it's too much, and sometimes you can use some common sense when you see someone was having a good time talking and you don't interrupt them? Also, they charged our cards twice the double price by mistake, and it's going to take 5 business days to reimburse...Generally, I would say the staffs needs more training and common sense.

"We went to Bread N Wine on a early Saturday afternoon for brunch. We were greeted and seated by the servers who were attentive. The food was okay the bread was really soft and fresh. My partner got the French Lentil Soup, Spinach and Tomato Egg Bake andI got the French onion soup, egg omelette with spicy tomato avocado and onions. I wasn 't happy with my omelette because thespicy just meant it was covered in hot sauce within. For beverages, we got chai lattes (we later found out it wasn 't tea basedbut rather coffee) and we had the option of oat milk, almond milk or regular milk. In terms of our overall experience we feltby the end too many things were steering the experience south; the worst was when we were accused of using counterfeit money topay for the tip. There was no special marker used to prove that the money was counterfeit or technology to back up this claim. That experience alone left a bad taste in our mouth as we left embarrassed by that claim, kind of shook from that, we stilladded the tip to our credit card 18%. As we walked out and talked about how weird that was, the owner of the business nextdoor overheard us and asked to see the $20 bill he showed us that our money was real and validated what we knew, that themoney wasn 't counterfeit. When we went back into Bread N Wine to discuss this there was no apology, just well, it felt thatway , shrug. It left a terrible feeling. We would not go back after that, this is not how you treat customers from start tofinish, hence the 2 star review."
